Mercury followed suit, his ship falling into stride along side Jorens.

"Alright setting course for destination. Make sure your defenses are primed and ready." Joren said over the comm as he got his ship ready as they moved out.

"Understood, powering up sheilds, bringing laser turrets and missile tubes online, deploying hull armor." Said Merury, ticking off each on a mental checklist.

"Doing the same. Plasma cannons online, Point defense systems functioning, dual layer adaptive shielding online. Deploying hull armor. Sensor scans to maximum. Alright it looks like we're ready. Increase speed to Warp 8. Hopefully we'll avoid running into those Vardy bastards." Joren said after going over his sensors and systems.

Mercury pushed the throttles of his ship forward and the engines pushed the Star Raven to warp 8 along the indicated course.

"Course heading looks good. Warp fields stable. Scans so far show no Vardolan ships on the screen." Joren said looking over his sensors.

Mercury leaned back in his seat, a wary tone in his voice. "Let's hope it stays that way." He looked out the window of his cockpit. "Oh, their out there... I know they don't just leave swaths of space unwatched."

"True. These guys are good at hiding till the last second and then striking. That's partly what makes them so lethal." Joren said keeping an eye on his screens and on space.

Mercury nods, watching through his cockpit more than his sensors. "Sometimes the eye can detect a distorsion that will be invisable to sensors." He comented aloud.

Just then Joren picked up a momentary contact. "Woah. Speak of the devil. I just got a momentary contact on my sensors. We're being followed. Probably a small scout ship keeping tabs on us for something bigger."

Mercurys eyes narrowed. "I say we don't give him the chance, agreed?"

"Agreed. Switch to full spectral scans. That should light him up like a christmas tree. Then we can blast him out of the stars." Joren said as he adjusted his scanners.

Mercury nodded, switching the settings on his scanners, then an idea occured to him. "Hold on, I'm going to try something..." He flicked a few switches, and a hatch at the rear of his ship opened and released a cilinder. "I'm deploying an EM mine, should knock out his cloaking systems, and iluminate him for targeting scanners."

"Good idea. With that cloak of his up he won't have shields to protect himself from it. It should disable his ship. Once it's down we'll board him and interrogate him. See what info we can get out of him." Joren said getting ready.

Mercury counted off in his head, then there was a blast of blue light as the mine went off. Mercury saw a segment of stars disappear, a black outline of a ship, then the ship materialized as the cloak failed entirely. "Gotem."
