***a few minutes earlier***

"Oomph!" Sai gasped as a kick from Nate lobbed him off the hammock Skip had set up for them. Nate was somewhat disappointed Sai didn't want to share a room with him but then understood Sai got stir crazy being in a house for too long. Skip decided to set up a hammock for him to sleep in until he got around to finishing a tree house for rainier nights.

"Figures." Sai muttered as his tree fox half took over and gave him the necessary agility to grab a tree branch on the way down and do an elegant backflip to the ground. "First night I convince Nate to try the hammock with me, he kicks me out of it."

Sai's ears perked up when he actually heard Nate. He was moaning as if in pain in his sleep. Sai clambered up the tree just as well as any squirrel and looked at Nate. He was thrashing about, but without Sai on the other side of the hammock to level it, he was safely in a dip and practically in a net. There would be no danger of him falling out. One flailing paw nearly whacked Sai on the nose and he dropped back down to the ground.

"What are you doing up at this time of night?" Kana asked sleepily as she walked over, hearing some kind of commotion. She never slept deeply enough to fail hearing any of her charges.

"Nate kicked me out of the hammock." Sai said. "Literally. He looks like he's having some kind of fit. It must be one heck of a nightmare."

Kana looked up and got a worried look in her eyes. "Go find someone who can get up there and get him down."

Sai nodded hearing the worry in Kana's voice. He started feeling scared for his new brother and first flew up to the roof of the house. As he expected, Lucario was meditating there. He didn't know why he flew up here since Lucario was almost impossible to rouse from meditation and wasn't the type to be in a good mood about it. He chuckled momentarily when he saw Daisy sitting on the only thing Lucario was wearing. A swollen diaper. Daisy had become smitten with Lucario as soon as she saw him and rarely left him alone, even when he was meditating. She'd lately been trying to meditate with him but ended up falling asleep on his comfortable (thanks to the padding) lap each time. Lucario was nervous at first with Daisy's obvious attraction to him and this caused him to have more wettings than usual (which Daisy found immeasurably cute) but now he tollerated (and everyone suspected (correctly) enjoyed) her almost constant presence.

Sai could tell this wasn't the best idea to rouse them so he flew in through the open window of Nate's room. Hiroki and Anthony were cuddled together on a bunch of pillows they'd put on the floor. Sai chuckled again when he saw he wasn't the only one to get a friend to try something tonight. Anthony had managed to get Hiroki curious enough to be put into a diaper for bed. Sai considered waking up Hiroki since she was almost as good at climbing trees as he was (surprising since it was never a good idea to climb any trees where she was from as they had a habit of being struck by lightning almost every time someone even breathed on them). He then shook his head as he realized Hiroki would be catapulted out if she got near Nate. That left only Skip and Zoe who could climb a tree (besides Hinata and the recently hatched Riolu who were again too small to get Nate). Sai rushed over to their room and hopped up onto the bed. This proved to be a mistake as he jumped on Skip's rudder and was flung by the powerful tail straight into the ceiling. He ended up landing back on Skip's belly with a whoosh of air from the otter and they both laid there stunned for a few seconds. Zoe had woken from the thump Sai made when he hit the ceiling and looked at the two. Realizing what happened she promptly burst into giggles.

"Are you two alright?" she said close to hysterics.

"I will be in a minute." Skip wheezed breathlessly.

"I'm okay too." Sai said, sitting up and rubbing his head. "I've taken harder hits than that before."

"I can imagine." Zoe laughed.

"So what's up." Skip asked, now fully recovered. "Didja' have a nightmare buddy?"

"No but I think Nate is." Sai said worriedly. "He kicked me right out of the hammock and now he's thrashing about. Kana wants him out of there before he falls."

Skip leapt out of bed so fast the blankets sent Sai through the air for the third time that night. Fortunately Skip caught him as he flew by and stopped him from crashing into the wall. Skip kept running until he got outside. Sai was surprised to see the pokemon had gathered, even Lucario! Lucario had apparently gotten Nate down already because he was doing his best to wake him up.

"What's going on?" Skip asked half choked when he saw the pain and fear on Nate's still sleeping face.

"He won't wake up Skip." Lucario said. "I felt his pain suddenly and when I got to the tree, he was like this. I can't wake him up at all!"

"There's only one thing I know that can do this." Ninetales said with a fury burried in her voice that sent shivers down everyone's spine. "There's a Darkrai loose around here. I have no idea how but there's definitely one nearby."

"If it's a Darkrai," Kana said. "Then only three things can free Nate from this."

"One is to "convince" Darkrai to release him." Arcanine said with an even more obvious anger to her voice.

"Another is to find Cresselia." Sai chirped in.

"And the last is to use a Lunar Wing." Lucario sighed. "Looks like we have to find the Darkrai since the other two are extraordinarily unlikely to happen in the near future. Ninetales, Arcanine, Absol, let's get going."

"You are so not leaving me behind for this." Daisy said adamantly from right next to him. "I'm not gonna let you face a legendary without me."

"And this guy is hurting my best friend." Anthony yipped. "No way am I being left behind!"

"Oh yes you are!" Arcanine barked. "You're too young for this!"

"HELLLOOO!" Anthony barked back. "Since when does age matter for pokemon to battle? I'm not a baby pokemon anymore! I'm old enough to fight."

"It's the same way for me and Hinata!" Hiroki added. "Contrary to the way we look, we're not infants." At this Hinata blushed from Kana's pouch.

"He's hurting Sai's new brother." Hinata said. "I'll be coming too."

"Not without me!" Riolu pipped up from beside her.

"You are staying right where you are." Kana said. "I don't like the fact that Anthony, Daisy, Hiroki and Hinata are going to fight but they are correct about being old enough. You however are still too young."

"Oh please." Riolu said rolling his eyes. "I was ready to fight upon hatching. I proved that to Hinata in a sparring match."

"RIOLU!" Hinata gasped. "You weren't supposed to tell anyone about that!"

"You sparred with a pokemon not even a month old!" Kana gasped.

"GUYS! FOCUS!" Sai snapped. He blushed when everyone turned to stare at him.

"Sai's right." Skip said coming to the kit's defense. "You're wasting time here. I suggest you all go since it will be impossible to keep every single one of the younger pokemon here anyway."

"We've got a few ways of making that statement incorrect but it would be more trouble than it's worth." Lucario said. "You're right however. Let's go see if another legendary would be willing to help out before we take this guy on though. Let's ALL go." He stare at everyone who would normally object meaningfully, just daring them to speak out against the order. They all knew he was serious and that he and Skip were right, so they all took off after him, leaving Nate twitching in Skip's arms.

"So that's why we're here." Lucario said to Raikan. "We could use your help finding this guy."

Raikan rubbed his temples a bit before crossing his hands before his mouth. "I'll help as much as I can because he gave my son a nightmare as well. However I don't think I can help much in a fight. I haven't had a battle in so long I'll be more of a liability. Were it an easier pokemon I might because I can take a bit of time as the old instincts start kicking in. But this is a Legendary where you don't have any time to do such a thing. A moment is all a legendary needs to turn a battle one-sided."

"We'll take any help we can get." Lucario said. "I recommend we spread out and try to find him first. If you younglings find him, do NOT start a fight. Send someone to find the others and follow him until we gather to help. This one is very dangerous and Nate wouldn't want you to get hurt needlessly for him. Understand?"

Each of the pokemon Lucario adressed nodded. Hinata and Riolu shot out the door and immediately began using their Aura Sense to try and track down the Dark pokemon. Hiroki and Anthony took off in another direction. Daisy reluctantly went with them but not without casting a "be careful" look at Lucario. Arcanine ran off and started sniffing the air with her keen nose to scent for a strange pokemon. Ninetales took off with fire almost literally coming from her eyes (seriously, they were blazing with a fiery light!). Absol took off and with Kana as the two of them were the wear of the older ones and felt they stood a better chance together. Lucario began Aura Sighting and ran off as well. Raikan gave Sirius one hug goodbye before he flew into the air and began searching with telekinetic waves that served almost as echolocation. Sirius stood at the door for a moment, watching his daddy flying off (wishing he could fly as he did so) before he began shutting the door. Suddenly, a figure appeared at the door and Sirius backed up with a bark of surprise.

"Wh-who are you?"



Who will find the Darkrai first? Who will kick butt? Who will get their butts handed to them on a silver platter? Who is this mysterious figure at the door that's frightened Sirius? Who's gonna need some therapy after all this is over? Find out in the next update!

Hmm, I read the last short you wrote, and liked it, and I like this one too! ^.^ I'm gonna keep an eye on them :3

"I wish there was something we could do from here." Skip sighed as he continued to try to soothe Nate as much as possible. Nate wasn't thrashing anymore but he was now only feebly flinching every now and again. He was still whimpering nonstop and nothing anyone did could stop him.

"I wish I could at least get in there so he wouldn't have to be alone in this." Sai said sadly. "I can't stand to see him like this but I can't even think about leaving him either."

"I just got off the phone with Zena." Zoe said. "She said she was about to go back to sleep after waking from a horrible nightmare, only to find that her nightmare had just about come true. Zee-Zee had a horrible one and screamed loud enough to sound like he was hurt. I called Warren too. He wasn't happy at first cause he'd been woken up but he thinks it's odd that he and Zena had nightmares along with Zed, Zee-Zee and Lig while only Nate had one over here. And worse he was trapped in one."

"We might have a clue!" Sai said. "Darkrai must be close to them and maybe Nate was just more susceptible to nightmares cause of... you know."

"Well, they all went over to Raikan's." Zoe said. "They must be close already."

Indeed they were. Just about everyone could feel that Darkrai was close in their own ways. None of them could find him however. Raikan was standing on top of a house fuming with a bit of frustration. He almost felt like battling simply because his cub had been affected by Darkrai's presence. He knew it wasn't Darkrai's fault as that was something most Darkrai couldn't prevent but he also knew that a Darkrai didn't accidentally trap cute kids like Nate in nightmares.

"What is a Darkrai doing here anyway?" Raikan asked himself. "There's no chance of them blending in around here. And they're even scarier looking than an Absol. What could it possibly want?"

"To find a way home." a timid voice said from behind him.

Raikan lept ten feet into the air and hung there for a moment before coming back down and turning around. This night had made him way too jumpy. When he was fully turned, nothing was there. Raikan's eyes glowed for just a second and he knew that Darkrai was practically on top of him.

"Lucario!" He sent out telepathically. "I've found him! Hurry!"

"En route." Lucario called back. "Try not to pick a fight until I get there!"

"I don't want to fight." the voice said again, suddenly sounding very young. Raikan stared downward and saw a Darkrai rising from a darker spot on the roof. He was surprised when he saw the Darkrai barely break three feet tall. Normally they were an inch under five feet!

"If you're not here to fight, what do you want?" Raikan asked, still surprised by, now that he thought about it, how young the Darkrai seemed to be.

"I wanna go home." the Darkrai said in a voice that clearly showed he was just a kid, and a young one at that. "I'm lost and I'm scared. I don't like being scared at night. It hurts people."

"That explains why Nate was caught in a nightmare." Raikan thought to himself. "How did you get here anyway?"

"I don't know." the Darkrai said starting to actually cry. "I just woke up and here I was. No mama anywhere. Just a bunch of houses."

Raikan felt his paternal instincts kick in. He wasn't just weak against certain pokemon attacks. Children were just another of his weaknesses. He kneeled down and hugged the Darkrai gently. "Why don't you come with me and we'll try to figure this out? We'll find you a way home."

"Did I just hear you offer this guy some help?" Lucario asked as he leapt onto the building with Aura already pulsing around his paws.

"Wait a sec Lucario." Raikan said quickly. "This is just a lost little guy. He didn't mean to hurt anyone. We both know that Darkrai's nightmares are just a defensive mechanism. He was scared and that triggered it."

Lucario paused where he was. He still had the look of fury upon his face but as time passed this faded. Soon the Aura glowing around his paws also disappeared and a look of sympathy replaced his fury.

"Sorry for the scare Darkrai." Lucario said. "My friend was trapped in a nightmare and that usually only happens intentionally. I was just worried about him. Do you know how to free him by any chance?"

"Un-uh." the Darkrai said sadly. "Mama was the one who helped anyone I did that too by accident."

"Your mama?" Lucario asked quizzically.

Before the Darkrai could answer, there was a ringing sound. Raikan blushed and dug a hand into his pocket to pull out a cell phone.

"Hello?" Raikan answered.

"Raikan?" Zoe's voice asked on the other side.

"I'm here Zoe." Raikan said. "How's Nate holding up?"

"I'm not sure." Zoe said. "Anyways, I've got two bits of news for you."

"Yeah?" Raikan asked.

"First of all we believe the Darkrai is in your general vicinity since both Zena and Warren said their households had suffered from nightmares while nobody over here besides Nate did. He was apparently susceptible to it after a frightening experience he had."

"We've already found the Darkrai." Raikan said.

"You haven't hurt him have you?" Zoe asked worriedly. "He's just a lost little guy trying to find his way home."

"How did you know that?" Raikan spluttered in surprise.

"That's the other bit of news." Zoe said. "Darkrai's mother figure is at your place. I called to see if you were there to pass on where the Darkrai was and Sirius said he knew everything thanks to her. She's waiting for you there."

"That is news." Raikan said. "Thanks. We'll get over there right away. Bye."

There was a click and he hung up. "Good news." He said. "Your mama is waiting for you at my place."

"Thank goodness." the Darkrai said, sounding tiredly relieved. "She'll be able to help."

Raikan was glad he still had the Darkrai in his arms as the little dark legendary slumped over, fast asleep. The whole ordeal had worn him out. Raikan and Lucario smiled and stood up (with Darkrai craddled in Raikan's arms).

"Everyone?" Lucario broadcasted to the others telepathically. "This is Lucario. Target has been neutralized. Meet back at HQ for debriefing."

"Thank you Captain Lucario." Raikan said sarcastically with a smirk.

"Let's get him back to your place." Lucario said.

They found Daisy, Hinata and Riolu waiting at the door to Raikan's house.

"What are you guys doing here?" Lucario asked.

"We thought this was HQ." Riolu said.

"By the way hun," Daisy said. "We're not in the army so no need to use that lingo."

"Look out! Darkrai!" Hinata gasped when she saw Darkrai had his arms wraped around Raikan's neck.

"At ease troops." Lucario said sarcastically (causing a smirk from Raikan). "He's an innocent. The porr little guys was just lost. Haven't you met his mom inside yet?"

"We were waiting out here for you." Riolu said. "Daisy was too worried about you to wait inside."

Daisy pulled the usual sign of a Buneary being embarrassed by pulling some of her fluff over her face. Lucario just laughed and picked her up, giving her a light nuzzle on the cheek. Daisy stiffened and then peeked over her fluff. Lucario could tell she was smiling (and probably blushing as well). He walked inside with her and stopped and stared along with Raikan, Riolu, and Hinata. He'd been expecting this but he still couldn't help but be amazed by the beauty of the pokemon before him. Cresselia was laying on the couch next to a sleeping Sirius and looked up when the other pokemon entered. She had a gentle beauty about her that was almost heavenly. The look of relief that flew across her face when she saw Darkrai unharmed gave her a beauty that all mothers seemed to possess. She floated over and Raikan wordlessly handed Darkrai to her.

"I can't thank you enough." She said in a voice that reminded Lucario of a gentle breeze, whispering across a moon-lit glade. "I've been worried to my wits end about him." She looked over at Sirius and smiled before turning back to Raikan. "You are a very lucky father to have a cub with such a heart. He assured me you wouldn't hurt my child after he told me how you all went out to hunt him down. He soothed my fears like nothing else could have."

"That sounds like my pup." Raikan said, walking over the gently fondle the wolfhound's ears. Sirius was apparently having a very good dream that only got better at Raikan's touch as he smiled even more broadly. "He's always been a caring and helpful one. I'm very proud to call him my son."

Cresselia smiled and then turned to Lucario. "I heard about your friend from Sirius. Take this. It should banish any nightmares, natural or no."

Lucario simply nodded his thanks, too overcome by Cresselia's beauty to speak. He held out a paw and Cresselia placed hers over it. A flash of light appeared from beneath and then a larger flash of light filled the room. As the light cleared they heard the same beautiful voice whisper to them, "Thank you." Lucario looked down at his hand and in it was the most beautiful silver wing he'd ever had the fortune of seeing.

"PLUSHIES!" Nate screamed as he woke suddenly from the nightmare as Lucario shone the light of the Lunar Wing upon him. Everyone just stared at him as he looked around.

"Uh, plushies?" Sai asked.

"WHERE?" Nate screeched before trying to hide himself in Skip's fur.

"He had a nightmare..." Anthony began.

"About plushies." Hiroki finished.

"Are you telling me we walked around the suburbs," Hinata began.

"In the middle of the night." Riolu added.

"Yes in the middle of the night, just to wake him up from... plushies?" She finished.

"Now don't laugh you four." Kana said warningly.

"Yes." Ninetales said. "I can name a few things that you were scared of Anthony."

"Hey!" Anthony yipped indignantly. "It was just the one mime and he popped out of nowhere!"

"You're scared of mimes?" Hiroki asked.

"No." Anthony said. "It was my first one and I had no idea what he was doing so he freaked me out."

Nate laughed at the memory. He felt a bit better but was now embarrassed that he'd had a nightmare about plushies.

"What was so scary about those plushies?" Sai asked.

"The little ones were burying everyone alive with their cuddly numbers." Nate explained as his tail stiffened. "But the bigger ones were the really scary ones. They were pulling people into their fluffy interiors through holes in their seams, never to let them out again. It reminded me of...."

"Oh." Everyone said understandingly. It reminded Nate of being eaten by the dragon again. The whole room was silent until Daisy started stifling a giggle. Lucario looked at her sternly and she stopped. But then Lucario smirked and she was off again. Soon everyone, including Nate, were on the floor in a helpless fit of laughter. Everyone was glad to see Nate was happy again and were amazed by how fast kids can bounce back. Zoe limped over to a closet (her ribs hurt from laughing) and pulled out several very cushy blankets. She laid them out of the floor and pulled out a bunch more and tossed them onto everyone. The whole group knew what Zoe was thinking and soon they were one pile of creatures on the floor. They were all snuggling as close to each other as they could, enjoying one another's presence and falling into one of the best dreams they ever had. A dream that was almost exactly like their current lives. A dream of being one happy family.


*Riolu walks in*
Awww! Wasn't that a sweet ending? Pity I didn't get more showing in the story. But oh well. It's my first one, I shouldn't complain. I'm only into vore somewhat. Stories with each of the requirements are severely int the minority. In my defense though, the dragon thing was before I even discovered Vorephilia. Come tho think of it I was into diapers before I discovered this place too so I shouldn't be surprised. The dragon didn't digest him. These dragons swallow lost kids or runaways and return them home inside of eggs. I wouldn't recommend you read What a Day if you don't want to read about how much it scared the heck out of Nate.

My vore requirements only if someone is interested in looking.

1. Soft vore only. No chewing or limb ripping. Swallowed whole, alive, and unharmed. 2. Victim must be released from the stomach or reformed. Can never be a fatal consumption. 3. If digestion occurs, mustn't be painful. That kind of thing just isn't cool to me. 4. Willing prey is greatly preffered. If unwilling must come to like it during the swallowing, while inside, or after release/reform. I may sound like a hypocrite now since Nate didn't enjoy being eaten. The truth is, if he hadn't been so scared, he actually would have enjoyed it like a slick, warm slide.

I really enjoyed it, although i had to look around the net to figure out which Pokemon were what *giggles* Also, each nightmare for the characters worked out wonderfully, well, knowing what each of my buddies here are like *giggles*

*Nods* Riolu, you always manage to nail the characters on the head. I dont know if its a gift or just a lot of talen but your a really good writer.
