The Gate Empty
PostSubject: The Gate   The Gate Icon_minitimeTue Jan 12, 2010 3:46 pm

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on the The Furr Den...sorry Lig...so I thought I would kick off my return with the revised version of one of my more popular stories, The Gate.

I promise I wont give up on this story and there are more, and new chapters to come.

So, I hope you enjoy the revised story,

Tell me what you think :3

The Gate.

By: The Sleeping Fox

“All personnel quarters in lockdown, Gate13 program in progressive stage.”

With the last warning from the female robotic conductor of messages the entire research building became a ghost town. Except for one room.

A single laboratory, filled with scientists, researchers and technicians, all busy at work to make sure that their “brainchild” went off without a hitch. Row after row of computers were lit up like a Christmas tree, and the sound of multiple keyboard’s tapping filled the air. A large arch way, like a monolith devoted to a roman god stood at the base of the lab in it’s new age technological glory. The technicians all worked busily on their systems checks, as the scientist, and researchers worked with the massive machine beheld in front of them. Only one technician stood apart from the group, paying special attention to a large egg-like vessel huddled in front of the machine.

“I hope this works,” the technician said with a sigh as he stepped away from the vessel and walked to a safe distance.
“Gate 13 start up phase engaged,” an older snowy owl in a lab coat yelled out with other scientists quick to repeat him as a sign of acknowledgement.

Then the room fell silent as a faint light formed around the massive metallic archway. The soft prayers of a single woman could be heard.

“Engage second phase.”

Seconds after the owl yelled this the sections of the inner rim of the archway started to shift sending the emblems engraved into them in many directions.

“Engage final step,” the owl said with a look of great anticipation on his face.

Finally the emblems stopped moving and were set into position. With this final
action the Archway’s faint glow turned into a bright flaring aura. After the temporary blindness caused by the sudden brightness subsided a faint shadow of what seemed to be a older fur walked through the light and was pulled into the vessel set forth in front of it.

For a moment time stood still…

“Did it work?”

* * *

It was raining. I remember that because it was raining so hard our car had stalled on that roadside cliff on the way to your parent’s cottage. I tried to fix it…but I was getting nowhere, so I decided to go back to the car, with you.

“Z’ev you goof,” a beautiful pure white teenaged husky exclaimed, “I told you it was no use trying top fix the car.”

That’s Mika, my girlfriend. She’s perfect, smart, kind and beautiful. I constantly ask how so much beauty could be rolled up into one girl, but then again I constantly ask how she could be with me.

“I know, but you know how thick headed I am,” I laughed. “I just wanted to get you home safely, me being the big heroic type and all.”
“Well Mister hero, I guess we’ll have to stay here tonight.”

She gave me one of those looks she always gave me. It was so sexy but at the same time, so clever. It drove me wild.

“What ever will we do?” she mocked as she let down her long hair.
“I have no idea,” I played along as I went in for a kiss.

It’s funny how contrasted two people can be, but at the same time they can get along so well. Look at Mika and me for instance. I’m a white wolf I have a black spot over my eye and a small heart shaped one on my butt, I’m often shy, I love the horror genre, and I’m not very adventurous. Mika on the other is courageous, confident, likes comedy, and loves to walk on the wild side.

“Why is she with me again?”

As we were locked in an almost maddening passionate kiss I caught myself thinking what this would lead to but it didn’t take long for me to find out.

“Let’s get you out of those wet clothes Z’ev, and into something-
“More comfortable?” I completed her sentence.

She started to slowly take off my shirt, but stopped as a bright light appeared through the darkness of the stormy night. We both thought it would pass so we continued. Suddenly there was a loud screeching of tires on the wet pavement followed by the almost thunderous sound of eighteen-wheeler’s horn. Somehow the wet ground had shifted under us, moving our car onto the road.

The headlights of the monstrous truck blinded us for a few seconds but soon it faded. As our vision cleared Mika noticed something was wrong.

“Why is there so much water in the car? She sounded panicked. “Oh my god…Z’ev!”

The truck had slammed our car off the side of the cliff and into the dark waters below. I looked over at Mika as blood poured from my mouth. In the ensuing chaos several long pipes had shot off the eighteen wheeler, through the car’s windshield and into my chest, shoulder and lower abdomen.

“Z’ev No!” she cried.
“I love you.” I smiled faintly as I forced open the sunroof and painfully undid her seatbelt.
“No I won’t leave you!” she cried “I Love You!
“G-go Mika and live.”

I died that night, I wish I could tell you what had happened to Mika, to me, and even the truck driver. Although I never left this world I haven’t seen that light yet. Until today.

I only hope it leads somewhere good.

“Transfer complete.”
“Malfunction, Vessel instability has caused error in formation.”

“Damn it!” the owl yelled. “Another failure,”
“What are you talking about?” a younger female hedgehog in technician’s apparel exclaimed. “We’ve hardly ever successfully transferred anything through the gate, malfunctions and all.

The head scientist scowled at her and turned to a group of other technician.

“Shut down the project and retrieve the vessel,” the owl told them angrily, “give the subject to the civilian, by contract it is her’s to keep.”

The female technician put the egg like vessel onto a trolley, and took it over to a white female wolf. She then led her out of the room.

“Thank you,” she told the technician as they left the room and the lights went out behind them.

* * *

I woke up in a daze; everything around me was so bright I couldn’t see a thing. I caught myself asking if I was in heaven now. No such luck. The brightness faded but my vision was still blurred.

“So much for the white light theory” I thought out loud.
“Z’ev?”

It was her. I recognized that soft, almost angelic voice. It ran over me like honey. It was so smooth and sweet; I knew it was her, it had to be.

“Mika…” I said softly, reality seemed to be on hold for me at the moment, “I thought, I died didn’t I?”
“It’s okay Z’ev, you came back to me,” she said in an almost sad tone.

Slowly I was slipping out of my dream like state, and everything around me came into focus. I was in a hospital room.

Then I saw her, she entered through the doorway, and I forgot about the hospital, the world, everything. She walked up to me in the sexy way she always did. She was more beautiful than ever, she was more defined, older and somehow…bigger?

“Where are we?” I asked my voice sounded alien to me.

That’s when it struck me and everything snapped back in reality. Something was wrong. My voice. It had changed, it was the same yet so different. Younger in fact, and more high pitched.

“What’s going on?” I asked. “What happened to me, I thought I died.
“Y-you did Z’ev,” she explained looking as if it was painful to look at me. “W-we brought you back.

She broke into tears. Whatever she did it couldn’t so horrible. Was I disfigured? I knew I couldn’t have been paralysed, I could still move, so what could it be?

“I want to see a mirror,” I said sternly in my soprano voice.
“But Z’ev…it’s a little to early for that.”
“NOW!” I yelled.

Mika was stalling, but we both knew she would have to give me the mirror sooner or later. The weird thing was when she gave me the mirror she looked ashamed.

“I’m sorry,” she muttered.

When I looked in the mirror I saw nothing wrong at first. My face wasn’t disfigured, nothing was missing, I still had the spot over my eye, I had my baby teeth; I had my…baby teeth!?

“What the hell!?”
“I’m Sorry,” Mika repeated over and over.

I couldn’t believe it. It was me, but I was younger.

“Holy crap I’m a toddler,” I exclaimed.
“Well, actually your six,” Mika said trying to lighten the mood.
“What difference does it make?” I replied with venom in my words.

“What the hell was I doing?” I thought while spitting those horrible words at her, “I shouldn’t have been yelling at her, I loved Mika.”

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled,” I explained, “but how the hell are we supposed to have a relationship now?”
“Well, you’re going to laugh, but I kinda’ sorta’ adopted you.”

At this point I sat back. Closed my eyes and sighed with frustration and exhaustion letting my body relax. I only opened them when Mika spoke.

“Z’ev are you okay?” she had worry in her voice again.

I looked up at her but a wet spot forming on my blankets caught my eye. I threw them off and with a look of horror I realised I was pissing all over myself. All I could do was break down into tears.

Later that day we would find out through a series of tests that I was incontinent due to damage to my bladder and bowel tissue. As if it wasn’t embarrassing enough to be in this body I would have to learn to control my “movements” from now on…

Fuck…

A bit depressing, but the style overall is pretty good, I like it.
Just hope things turn out better for Z'ev as the story progresses ^^.

An Old Friend
(Sequel to the Gate.)

By: The Sleeping Fox

Ironic isn’t it? When I left this world it was raining…and it hasn’t stopped since I was brought back…or maybe just maybe, it wasn’t the rain…but Mika’s tears that haven’t stopped…

When we left the hospital the dampness in the air made me shiver. Its funny something inside told me, don‘t go out in the rain, whatever you do, it isn‘t safe. So Mika took me by the hand and practically dragged me to her car. She’s always been forceful when I didn’t want to do something that she did.

With so much changing, I was happy that she was the same.

“Where are we going?” I asked as I went to open the front door.
“If we’re going anywhere you’re sitting in the back.”
“What?”
“Yes sir,” she said as she opened the back door and pointed towards a child’s car seat. “You may be older in mind, but you body isn’t.”
“I’m not sitting in that,” I protested and folded my arms and turned away from her.
“Oh really?” She smirked.

That’s when she picked me up. Oh right…she’s much stronger than me now. She forced me into the car with such gentle but strong hands. After a short struggle she buckled me into the infernal car seat. I pouted, sitting in the car seat with an upset childish demeanour.

“Don’t look so pathetic,” she laughed shutting the door.

She got into the driver’s seat and started up the car, “besides if you look like that when we get home everyone will get the wrong Idea about you.”

“Everyone?” I said a little worried.

That’s when the strange thoughts started.

What if no one likes me? What if they’re really mean? What if they’re…What the hell was that?” I thought to myself. “Why am I thinking like a child?”

As we drove further and further away from the hospital Mika and me didn’t talk much. She seemed so concentrated on the road and I was so deep in thought that we didn’t even notice the time fly by, and somewhere between the hospital, the clatter of rain on the car and “home” I drifted off into sleep.

* * *

When I woke up I was in Mika’s arms. It had stopped raining and she was carrying me towards an apartment building side entrance. She fumbled through her jacket pockets and pulled out a glossy black key card and ran it across a matching panel next to the door. Once inside I continued to rest my head on her shoulder. From what I could see as I drifted in and out of sleep was that the apartment building was very high-class.

“Where…are we?” I asked groggily.
“This is our home Z’ev,” she replied, “but there is one thing I must insist upon.”
“What’s that?”
“You can’t tell my children about our past, and especially about how you came back.”
“Oh…okay…” I said still half asleep, “CHILDREN!?”
“Well you have been gone a long time and-
“You’re married!”
“N-no…not anymore…” she said with a hint of sadness in her voice, “but we’ll talk about this later.”

Somehow I knew we never really would get to talk about this. She could always avoid talking about things that bothered her, oh well. After the long route to the top floor Mika swiped her key card once again over a black panel that resembled the one on the outside door. Once we got inside the apartment she set me down. As she took off my coat I looked around at the apartment.

It was a massive loft apartment with a large set of bay windows overlooking the entire city. The living room furniture in the apartment was all made of white micro fibre and the tables were made of black stained oak. As I continued into the apartment I looked to the left to see a large open kitchen attached to the living room, and a bathroom door. To the right of me were two sets of door on the far wall, a set of stairs leading up into the loft bedroom, and a scary looking Goth teen wolf.

He was dressed in all black, but unlike other Goths he didn’t look half dead, but he gave off the feeling that he was unsure of himself. He was wearing a black band t-shirt and baggy cargo pants to match. He was wearing a spiked collar, he had chains on his wrists, belt, pants, his left eat was pierced five times, two studs, three rings, and his left eyebrow was pierced twice.

“Who’s this mom?” he asked in a monotone voice
“Well Mingan, this is your new brother,”
“What?” he said in an unimpressed tone.
“Well, you know how my company takes interest in a special case every six months.”
“Yeah…”
“Well I decided to take in a case personally,” she lied.
“I’m not going to have to touch it…right?”

“Mingan, don’t be like that,” she reprimanded as I scowled at him.

“Well anyways mom I’m going to Fen's house I’ll be back later.”

As soon as he finished saying this he was quick to get out the door without saying a word, what an ungrateful jerk.

“So…” I said in an “explain everything” tone, “you have a company?”
“Well yes I do,” she explained, “We make provisions for older cubs that need special supplies.”
“What kind of supplies?” I asked
“Diapers among other things,”
“Diapers?”
“Well I’ve always loved kids you know that and I wanted to offer them something they can’t get usually,” she said, “besides it might come in convenient in your current state.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked rhetorically.
“Well," she paused, “you do have to re learn how to control your movement and I thought that we might try-
“I am not wearing diapers!” I said sternly in my prepubescent voice, “I told you I would learn how to control myself but I’m not wearing diapers.”
“Come on Z’ev.”
“NO!”
“Stop being such a child,” she argued, “besides you’ll have to wear them anyway, like it or not.”
“What?” I replied defensively.
“You may have been 19 at one point but now your six, and by law you’re my son, and you will listen.”

What the hell was she saying, how could she take to mothering him so quickly? I had only started to understand my transition. This woman I once knew was now different somehow; I guess age will do that to you.

I glared up at her as spitefully as I could, but she just laughed at my childish contempt.

“Come with me I have two more furs to introduce you to.”

She started to walk towards the set of doors on the far wall, and I think at that point I realised that Mika was no longer the woman I remembered. What happened?

I continued to follow her, as she walked to the door closest to the stairs leading up to the loft and knocked on it. A young female voice answered.

“Come in,”

As we entered I hid behind Mika’s legs, wondering why I was hiding the entire time. What I saw, between Mika’s legs was another white wolf lying on a bed reading a book. She was the spitting image of Mika but somehow she was different. She was wearing a pale blue sundress, with a black choker and both her ears were pierced once with jewelled studs.

“Hey mom…” she greeted her, a curious smile started to grow on her face when she caught sight of me, and “who’s this?”
“I’ll let him introduce himself.”
“Z-Z’ev…” I said shyly.
“He’s your new brother Cali.”
“Really?” She squealed with excitement. “Do I get to take care of him?”

Mika laughed.

“Your brother said the complete opposite,” she smirked, “you two really are the worst twin ever.”
“Come on mom, we’re not that different,” she joked as she got off the bed and walked over to Mika and me.
“I just wanted to introduce you to him in case I get called into work.” She told her as she looked around, “Do you know where Dakota is?

Once the name was said a large non-anthro black husky dog appeared from behind the girl’s bed and darted towards me, tackling me to the ground as it snarled and began to growl. My eyes widened in fear. In my current state this dog was massive. Its weight was immense on my small body. As soon as I saw it baring its fangs it happened. I felt that familiar warmth forming in my lower regions and it was spreading fast.

“No!” Mika yelled, “Bad Dakota!”

As soon as Mika’s voice changed the dog’s tail sunk in between its legs and it backed off whimpering.

Mika then stood me up and realised the huge wet spot on the front of my pants and the small puddle on the floor.

“Oh Z’ev,” she said in an irritated voice, “that was the only pair of pants we have for you.”

That’s when I burst in tears. I don’t really know why I did it, maybe it was the fact that I had pissed myself again, maybe it was that I did it in front of a person I just met or maybe it had something to do with this body I was in…

“I d-didn’t mean too,” I sobbed.
“I know,” Mika said sweetly, “let's see if we have any of my products around.”
“No!” I yelled in dismay, “I won’t do it again, don’t make me wear them.”

It’s really quite sad, a man acting like a distraught child. I guess i would call it a meeting with an old friend, childhood.

…What the hell happened to me?

The Product.
(Third Chapter in the gate.)

By: The Sleeping Fox

Needless to say she found the product, among other things that I really would have preferred she hadn’t found.

“Please don’t make me,” I pleaded fruitlessly.
“It’s too late for that,” Mika told me as she stood me in the living room in front of Cali, “Unless you miraculously heal you incontinence and can keep this diaper dry for an entire day, you’re not to go anywhere without them.”

I gave a look of blatant disparagement when she opened the box she had packed herself and pulled out a large diaper. It was an extremely thick and durable diaper, and it had cartoon animals posted all over the front. I stepped out of her reach as she reached out to undue my pants. I nudged my head in the direction of Cali to point out I didn’t want her in the room during this moment in case she saw my private areas exposed.

“Oh get real Z’ev,” She answered my silent plea.

She took off my shirt in one fell swoop, but when she reached to undo my pants I tried to turn away from Mika, but I wasn’t quick enough. She grabbed me, laid me on the ground and proceeded to peel away my urine soaked lower apparel. I turned a bright red with embarrassment when Mika started to pull off my underwear. I tried to close my legs but she held them open and gave me a glare.

“Stop squirming,” she ordered which was followed closely by a sigh of frustration, “Cali can you help with this?”
“No!” I cried, “I don’t want her to see me.”
“Well you should have thought of that before you started squirming.”

Cali happily hopped off the couch and held my leg open as her mother got out a bottle of cream, some powder and baby wipes. Tears frustration ran down my face as Mika applied the products over the essential areas. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me, having these things forced upon me. Especially by the woman who once said she was in love with me.

“It can’t be that bad Z’ev,” Cali tried to comfort me by making funny face; “It’s not the end of the world.”

I tried to hold back a smile and when she stopped making faces I realised that Mika had already double tapped the diaper and Cali had released my legs. Mika set me on the couch beside Cali in only a diaper. I sulked as I feebly tried to hide it with a pillow.

“I don’t want to wear these,” I repeated as I shot Mika another dirty look.
“Tough luck buddy,” Mika replied in a sarcastic tone as she walked towards the stairs and entered the second level of the apartment.

I sunk down on the couch with my arms crossed still pouting. As I was contemplating how to get out of this Cali nudged me.

“Look what’s on the television Z’ev,” she pointed out to me, “is that Wonder Cub?"
“I’d rather be watching,” but something about the show caught my attention “…well actually…this is quite…”

But I stopped talking all together drifting off as if something had hypnotized me. There was something about that show that was “mesmerizing.” Then again every other six year old would be. I guess easily being manipulated by bright flashy children’s shows was another perk of being in a younger body.

As the show went on I got that stupid little smile of amusement that every child gets when they’re watching their favourite television show. I even caught myself boasting and cheering for the little animated furs. How much more pathetic can I get?

Finally the show’s credits ran and I got that disappointed look on my face until the Narrator said in that nostalgic male tone.

“Tune in tomorrow for another exciting episode of Wonder Cub!”

I was giggling and clapping at this point but I stopped myself before I squealed. I heard Cali laughing softly at my behaviour so I turned towards her.

“Stop laughing at me,” I whimpered.
“Oh Z’ev I’m not laughing at you,”
“Yes you are!” I said as I hopped off the couch and sat down behind and started to pout again.

Why am I so emotional, there has to be some reason I’m acting so irrationally. Why can’t I control these actions?

As I contemplated these thoughts there was a noise at the door. It was the Goth boy, and he had brought friends. I blushed crimson this time as I realised that all these people would see me in a diaper so I jumped up on the couch, covered myself with the pillow and buried my face in the cushions.

“Hey Mom!” Mingan called out, “Fen and me couldn’t stay at his house so I hope you don’t mind I brought over a couple friends!”
Mika came rushing down the stairs at the sound of this announcement and gave Mingan a disapproving look as she walked towards him.

“You know that we just brought Z’ev here,” she reminded him, “and it’s hard enough to transition without you bring over your entourage,”
“Oh come on mom,” Mingan scoffed, “it’s not like we’re going to hurt him.”

As Mika thought about this her beeper went off. It was work calling her in.

“Fine,” she agreed, “but would you stick to your room?”
“Alright,” he said signalling his friends to follow him, “We can do that.”

As Mingan and his friends disappeared into his room I poked my head over the couch to see if the coast was clear. When I was sure it was I hopped off the couch and ran up to Mika.

“Can I please get some clothes?” I pleaded.
“Just what I was thinking,” Mika replied, “There’s some clothes in the box I put together.”

I cringed at the thought of what clothing she possibly could have put in the ominous box.

“Cali you can decide what he wears, I have to go to work.”

I focused on Mika as she left the apartment. She put on that coat. The coat she was wearing the night I died. The same coat I gave her for her birthday. It’s funny how some people just don’t let go of some things.

“Z’ev…Z’eeeeevvvvvv…Z’EV!”
“What?” I startled and turned to look at Cali.
“You were staring pretty intensely at mom…” she informed me, “but that’s beside the point we need to get you dressed.

I sighed as she grabbed my hand and took me into her room and she sat me on the bed. I watched as she rummaged through the box taking things out everything as she sorted through them.

Three Blue Pacifiers, five bottles with wolf pup cartoons drawn on them, a bib, two Footed pyjamas, one baby blue, the other pale yellow, four onesies each of which were different shades of light blue, five pairs of shortalls, two khaki, three were jean and one pair of overalls. Each pair of clothes came with characters on them, ducks, rabbits, foxes, or wolves, and there were lots of diapers.

“Umm…do they have any other clothes in there?”
“Nope this is it.”
“Are you sure?” I said in a hopeful but nervous manner.

She just smiled as she picked up a pale blue onesie with a wolf pup playing with a red ball on the chest.

“I think this will do just fine, seeing how hot it is today,” she said as if she were talking to herself, “What do you think?”

“I guess so,”
“Oh and don’t worry if we go out somewhere I’ll put some shortalls on you.”

“Oh great…” I thought, “Another thing that won’t cover up my diapers,”

She slipped the onesie over my head and buttoned up the snaps on the crotch. Cali smiled and patted me on the butt.

“You are too cute,” she squealed as she began to put everything back in the box.

I turned away from her and walked out of the room.

That’s when I saw it, out of the corner of my eye. It was a man pale and glowing white he was too blurred to really make out what he looked like but he seemed almost angry.

I stalled in place and started to tremble.

Cali came out of her room after putting everything back into the box neatly and found me.

“Z’ev, are you okay?” she asked as she picked me up. “You’re shaking…”
“…”

I rested my head on her chest and closed my eyes. The apparition had truly terrified me. She tried to comfort me as she sat on the couch and put me on her lap. Once she put me on her lap the television suddenly turned on.

It was the news channel.

“And in other news, a local man, Michael Forrester disappeared last night after what seems to be a ritual homicide.”

Cali tried to turn off the television but the remote wasn’t working.

“Police informants say that the man’s apartment was ransacked and ritualistic symbols were drawn in blood on the walls and floor. There have been no witnesses so the man’s family has released this photo of him.”

My eyes shot open when I heard this and I stared at the television. It was him. He was smiling in the picture but I now it was him. It was the apparition in the apartment.

“You don’t need to hear this Z’ev,” she said as she took me off her lap and put me on the couch.

She walked over to the television and unplugged it, but still it wouldn’t turn off.

“What the heck?” Cali said with shock in her voice.

“If you have any information on the missing man police implores you to call into the station.”

They flashed a number on the TV on how to contact the station directly. That’s when a voice sounded in my head.

“Corner of Thirteenth Avenue and Seventh Street, Back alley, The Hole.”

“Nine eight nine…one seven zero zero…” I tried to memorize the number in my head.

That’s when the television shut off.

I knew I had to do something, even if it was just a hunch I had to call that number. But I knew that no one in the house would let a six year old call the police station because he had a feeling. I had to plan this carefully.

“Cali,” I tried to pull off a fake yawn, “I’m tired.”
“Oh are you?”
“Yeah,” I pretended to nod off.
“Alright then,” she said, “you just lie down on the couch and try to get some sleep.”

As I lied down I watched her with one eye hoping she would leave the room. After she got me a blanket she stroked my head fur slowly while humming. Her touch was so gentle; it was a lot like Mika’s. Maybe it was the warm blanket, Cali’s stroking, of her soft humming but I ended up dozing off.

* * *

I woke up an hour and a half later.

“Stupid body,” I muttered, “I can’t even stay awake when I want to,”

I looked around and saw that Cali’s bedroom door was closed. I heard music coming from her room so I decided it would be safe to make the call.

I threw back my blanket and hopped off the couch. I tried to walk as softly as I could as I headed towards the phone. I finally picked up the phone,

“Good thing it was a portable,” I thought as I tiptoed back to the couch. “Here goes nothing”

I dialled the number.

The phone rang...

The phone rang again...

Finally someone picked up.

“Hello police services hotline how may I help you?”
“Umm, hi,” I said trying to make my voice as deep as possible. “I have information on the Michael Forrester.”
“Yes sir,” I now had her full attention.
“Corner of Thirteenth Avenue and Seventh Street, in the back alley, at the Hole,” I repeated, “There’s something there.”
“And can I get your name sir?”
“Is there someone on the line?” I heard Cali’s voice cut in on the phone.
“Uhh…”

Click.

That was close…and it wasn’t like I was going to leave my name anyways. Like I said, no one’s going to believe a six year old knows where the body of a dead man is…

My biggest worry now is what Cali was going to do if she knows it was me on the phone…

This is going to be a long day…

PostSubject: Re: The Gate   The Gate Icon_minitimeWed Jan 13, 2010 4:31 pm

So the plot so far is this pretty much : "Z'ev dies, is brought back, but is now a 6 year old, and is adopted by the woman who "loved" him, but now treats him like a little kid at Z'ev's great displeasure, and even worse forced him back into diapers since Z'ev was left completely incontinent when he came back to life. Also now Z'ev will be basically put through hell by Mika's kids, especially the goth one, and on top of all of this is being haunted by ghosts.".
This is a really good story, but is also really depressing.
I hope things turn out for Z'ev since right now he's scared, humiliated, and completely powerless.

So anywho,

Here is the next installment of my story, I hope you like it :3

Uncle Bones
(Fourth Chapter in the gate.)

By: The Sleeping Fox

I ran for the couch. I pulled the blanket over me and pretended to be asleep just in time to hear Cali open the door to her room. By the sound of her stomping, she did not sound happy.

“Were you just on the phone?” I closed my eyes tightly and stayed quiet in hopes she would just leave. It hadn’t even occurred to me how childish my actions were.

She started shaking and poking me. I let out an annoyed groan as she wouldn’t stop her prodding.

“I’m still sleepy,” I lied as I opened my eyes slightly to look at her.
“Answer me!” she raised her voice, “were you on the phone?”
“I was sleeping,” I lied again as I rolled over to face away from her, but she stopped me by putting her hand on my chest.
“So you were sleep dialling?” she said sarcastically.
“I don’t know,”
“Alright mister, that was the police hotline on the phone and I know that Mingan doesn’t have a phone in his room so spill it.”
“Yeah I…”
“Yes you what?” she said impatiently, “and you better tell the truth or you will be in big trouble.”
“Yes I called them.”

Cali then got me to sit up as she stared at me disappointed.

“Why?” she asked.
“I…I had a feeling,”
“A feeling?” she asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice.
“About that Michael Forrester guy” I continued, “I had a feeling where he was.”
“Oh Z’ev, you can’t just call the police because you had a feeling. You know that you’re wasting people’s time and money and you calling the police line may keep the police from real emergencies.”
“But-
“No buts about it,” She said as she picked me up off the couch and walked us into her room, “you’re sleeping in my room this time, and mom’s going to find out what you did.”
“But-
Cali gave me a “don’t push it glare” as she sat me down on the floor and pulled back the covers on her bed. I went to climb into her bed but she stopped me.

“Before you climb into my bed,” she emphasised, “I’m checking your diaper.”
“But I didn’t-
“I’m not taking the chance.”

She pulled me close and stuck one finger in the front of my diaper to check if I wet, and then patted my butt to check if I messed. As she did this I noticed Dakota on the other side of the room with his head cocked.

“So you didn’t do what?” she said, “Lay down.”
“But I didn’t do anything.”
“You wet, in fact you’re soaked, and if you plan on getting in that bed you’re getting a change because I don’t want you leaking everywhere.”

She pulled diaper change supplies from the box.

“Good thing I left this in here,” she said to herself, “now lay down.”

I reluctantly lied down on the floor and she undid the snaps on my onesie. I gave her a look of displeasure as she opened up my diaper.

“Why are you so uncomfortable when people change your diaper?” She asked as she removed my diaper and proceeded to apply cream and powder to my private areas. “I thought you would be used to it by now.”
“I wasn’t always like this…until the accident.”My eyes went wide as I quickly slapped my hands over my mouth. I wasn’t supposed to say anything about that.

“You were in an accident?”

I stayed quiet.

“I guess you don’t want to talk about it,” she said as she put a diaper under my butt, threaded my tail through the hole in the back, and taped it up, “Alright then, you are officially ready to sleep in my bed.”

She set me in her bed and tucked me in.

“What if I can’t get to sleep?”
“I can fix that.”

She grabbed a small object from the box and stuck it in my mouth. It was a pacifier. I spit it out once I realised what it was.

“I’m not a baby,” I said angrily.
“I know but it will help you sleep.”

She stuck it back in my mouth and I started to suck on it undecidedly, not knowing if I liked it or not. Cali then picked up a small gold trimmed box off her nightstand. She started to wind it up at the back and soft comforting music started to play.

“You try to sleep,” She smiled as she tucked me in.
“How’s this going…to help…me…sleep…?”

The music and the pacifier caused a flood of euphoria to come over me making me very tired. I watched as she walked out of the room. She took one look back at me and smiled. Closing my eyes the last thing I heard was “You sleep tight…little brother.”

* * *

It was cold; I laid in the fetal position, broken with an unending darkness surrounding me. I felt naked, as if I were exposed to everyone yet no one. Images of the car crash, my death, and Mika’s screaming filled my head, the feeling of loneliness and dread filled up my very being.

“Am I dead again?” I questioned. My words broke through the darkness and my surroundings came into view. There were children all around me, lying still as they could; only fear could be seen on their faces. In front of me was a Gate. It was massive and filled with an eerie light. I tried to move but I felt like I was made of led. I continued to look to see what I could and my eyes met with a little Cabbit boy’s.

“Where are we?” I asked but my attention was soon drawn back to the Gate.

Once again my voice broke through, and the children began to whisper about dire consequences. “You should not talk here,” the Cabbit boy said and the whispers ceased. The ground started to shake and from within the gate’s light, darkness began to slither.

“You do not belong,” it said in a booming ominous voice.

The sheer power of its words startled my body into motion. The darkness still slithering towards me.

“You must come with me”
“No!”

I got up to run but realised there was no way out. The darkness reached out and grabbed me by the arm I fought as it started to drag me towards the gate.

“Let go of me!” I cried out.

The closer we got to the Gate the more the darkness began to take shape. It’s low bellowing voice turned into a high pitched cackle. Pulling away from him I fell back onto my butt.

“STOP!” I screamed and the light disappeared from the gate.

The demon turned to face me. His smile is what I noticed first. It was gnarled, sinister, and he showed too much teeth. They protruded like a horse’s would but at the same time they were crooked and sharp. His smile grew and grew slowly creeping up his face. His eyes were as black as coals. They were a portal into his warped psyche; they were hungry, and filled with a maddening rage.

“Oh, so you want to play with uncle bones do you?” he let out another disturbing cackle.

While slowly inching away from him I broke from his gaze. I realized how tall he was. Not just for my size. He was really tall, at least seven feet tall. He was hunched over, his lanky figure was draped in a dark brown fur coat which was too small for him and looked to be stained in what I was hoping wasn‘t blood. His scarred hands and long crooked fingers snaked from out the sleeves of his coat. The tips of his fingers where blackened in great contrast from his pale white skin.

I tried to speak but I couldn’t manage to say anything, all I could do was shake my head no.

He grinned malevolently as his hand shifted into a grotesque claw. He reached out taking hold of my wrist; his harsh grip was almost too much to bear.

“I’m going to have fun playing with you.” He said lifting me from the ground, “I’ll be seeing you around, Z’ev,”

“Now I want you to promise to come back to see me Z’ev,” He grinned as I watched in horror as he stuck his claw into my chest and dragged it across forming an X, “Cross your heart...and hope to die.”

* * *

I remember screaming, the demon’s disgusting cackle still echoing in my head. Then I realised someone was holding me down so I started clawing at them and they finally let go. I came too, right after I hit them in the face.

“Damn it his claws are sharp,” I heard Mingan’s voice.

I opened my tear filled eyes and saw Mingan who was now holding his cheek and giving me a dirty look.

“Damn it Z’ev!”

I started to cry loudly, mostly because of the dream but partially because of the embarrassment of having lashed out. Startled by my sudden emotional outburst Mingan stepped back towards the door. Mika rushed in behind Mingan closely followed by Cali. It wasn’t long before I was in Mika’s arms.

“Z’ev its okay,” she told me as she rubbed my back, “I’m here now,”

* * *

It took Mika a while to get me to calm down enough so I could talk, I told her through my sobs and sniffles about the bad man who tried to hurt me. She gave me her worried look, and I could tell she thought I was losing it.

“Z’ev, it is getting late,” Mika told me, although I know she was just trying to end this disturbing conversation, “you still need your sleep.”
“Mika...” I stared down at that ground embarrassed. “Can…someone sleep…with me tonight?”
“I'm sure we can arrange that,” Mika said.
“I’ll do it,” Cali was standing at the door to her bedroom already in her pyjamas.

“Okay Cali,” she agreed.

Mika lifted me off her lap and patted my butt before I walked over to Cali.

“Goodnight Mom,” Cali said.
“Goodnight mo- I mean Mika,”
“Goodnight both of you.”

Cali took me by the hand and led me back to her room.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Cali asked me as I crawled onto her bed.

I just nodded.

After getting under the covers Cali tucked me into her bed and gave me the pacifier. I took with a little less reluctance this time. The she wound up the music box and let it play as she got into the bed with me.

“…Cali?”
“Yes little brother?”
“Thank you.”
“Anytime,”

Black Ties: Part 1
(Fifth Chapter in the gate.)

By: The Sleeping Fox

I didn’t dream at all that night. It was weird. It wasn’t like I fell asleep for what seemed like minutes. I spent hours just staring into blackness. Like when I was dead.

I felt like I never would wake up again. Luckily Mika came to wake me up. It was her picking me up out of the bed that disturbed my sleep.

“Come on Z’ev you need to get up,”
“What time is it?” I asked sleepily.
“It’s two in the afternoon; you must have been really exhausted from what happened.”
“Two?”
“Yeah you even slept through the delivery.”
“What delivery?”
“You’ll see…”

She then carried me out of Cali’s room and brought me upstairs into the loft. I saw that there were two doors on either side of the loft.

“That’s my room,” she pointed to the door on the left and then to the one on the right, “and that’s your room.”
“That’s my room?”
“Yup, I just had to order some things.”

I smiled as she brought me to the door and opened it.

It was “almost a nursery.” The walls were light blue with cute little animal characters on it. The closet on the left end of the wall was open, and I could see a large collection of diapers and the necessary supplies. There was a Bed with railings on the centre-right part of the wall close to a set of duel windows. Beside the bed was a nightstand and I could see that Cali had placed her music box and my Pacifier on it. At the end of my bed was a trunk style toy box. There was also a dresser, a changing table, and a night-light. There was a long flat black and white item on my bed but I couldn’t quite make it out.

“So, do you like your new room?” Mika asked.
“It could do without the changing table,” I said hopefully.
“Nice try,” Mika laughed, “And Speaking of changing tables, you are one stinky boy.”

I blushed as she brought me to the changing table and set me down. She took off my onesie and put it into a laundry hamper. She untapped my diaper and pulled it out from under me.

“Phew,” she exclaimed, “This is one full diaper.”

She threw it into a diaper pail and cleaned me up didn’t diaper or clothe me. Instead she brought me downstairs and into the bathroom. She put a stopper in the bathtub’s drain and turned the taps accordingly to fill the bath with warm water.

“Do you want bubble bath?” Mika asked as she picked up a teal bottle of the side of the tub.
“Yeah,” I said in childish tone.

As she poured a miniscule amount of the liquid into the slowly rising water her beeper went off.

“Work again,” She sighed.
“Work?” I whimpered.
“Sorry Z’ev it happens,” She told me, “Mingan can you come in here!”

I gave Mika a worried look, as I knew she was going to get Mingan to bathe me. Like always he wasn’t quick to respond. He walked into the bathroom, took one look at me and then to Mika, and I could tell he knew what she was going to ask him.

“Can’t Cali do it?”
“Cali’s out getting her hair done for tonight,” she explained.
“But…”
“No buts about it, I need you to do this for me.”
“Fine.”

“Thank you,” Mika smiled

She walked out of the bathroom and went to get ready. The less I heard Mika the more nervous I got about the idea of this Goth boy caring for me.

“Right, let’s get this done.” Mingan said as he lifted me into the tub. I stayed quiet part of the time as he ran water over me and got out baby shampoo. I squirmed in discomfort as he rubbed it into my fur.

“You’re doing it to rough,” I told him.
“Aww poor baby,” he scoffed at me, “It’s not like I like doing these things.”

He was quick to wash the shampoo out of my fur, after that he dropped some bath toys in the tub and murmured, have fun. Mingan stayed in the bathroom for the entire time I was bathing, and I could have sworn I caught him out of the corner of my eye smiling at me. Fifteen minutes or so later he decided that it was about time for me to get out of the tub.

“There were done,” he said as he pulled me out of the tub.

He set me down on the carpet in front of the tub. Instinctively I shook the water out of my fur, which ended up covering Mingan.

“You little bastard.”
“I-I’m…” I stammered, but I ran away from him straight into the living room. As he chased after me I ducked under the table and rolled behind the couch.

“I’m sorry!” I cried.
“To late, you little brat.”

At this point Dakota had come to join us and began to bar as Mingan chased me. I mirrored Mingan’s movement, he started to get frustrated so he jumped over the couch knocked me over and pinned me to the ground.

“I’m sorry I’m sorry!”
“Nope, it’s too late, brat…”
“Please get off me.” I cried Dakota was still barking.
“Are you going to get my new clothes wet again?”

That’s when I felt it, for the first time in a long time I felt that familiar pressure.

“Get off! I screamed with tears streaming down my face, “Get off!”
“I can’t hear you,” he mocked, “what aren’t you going to do?”
“Get off me,” I cried.

Without any control I released my bladder onto the living room carpet.

“Eww gross!” Mingan exclaimed leaping to his feet as he noticed the initial wetness spreading.
“I told you to get off of me,” I yelled as I burst into tears.

I ran across the apartment, up the stairs and into my newly assigned bedroom.
I headed towards my dresser and just barely managed to pull a diaper out of the top drawer. I walked over to my bed and tried to put on the diaper to no avail. I threw it across the room, slumped to the ground and cried in frustration.

A couple minutes passed by.

I didn’t look up even when someone came into the room and put their hand on my shoulder. The hand was soft and warm. I immediately knew it wasn’t Mingan.

“Hey Buddy,” she said and I threw my arms around her and hugged her tightly. It seems in the resulting panic I didn’t realise Cali entering the apartment. She picked me up with a diaper in hand and brought me over to the change table.

“I’m so sorry Z’ev,” she explained, “I got here just as you were running up the stairs.

I looked up at Cali while wiping away my tears. She looked beautiful. She had her hair styled up and was wearing diamond studs earrings.

“I really don’t know what possesses Mingan to do such things,” she said as she slipped the diaper under me, “sometimes he can be a real jerk.”

“W-well it was kind of my fault…I got him all wet.”
“No Z’ev it wasn’t,” she assured me sternly washing my crotch and legs me with a baby wipe, “that’s no reason for him to have acted that way.”
“But-
“No buts about it,” she looked at me as if she had changed her train of thought, “and he hasn’t even gotten you ready for tonight.”
“What’s tonight?” I asked.
“Never you mind that,” she said as she powdered me, taped the diaper.

She then set me back on the ground and walked over to my bed picking up the item I had seen before. It was a small tuxedo. As she brought the tuxedo towards me I stepped backwards in hesitation.

“Are we going somewhere fancy?” I said with worry in my voice. I was resistant partially because I didn’t want others to see me with a diaper, and the rest of it was because I hated getting dressed up.

“Don’t be worried, you’ll like where we’re going,” she assured me.

I decided it was pointless to resist because no matter what I was going to have to go. She finally finished fitting the tuxedo to me, it was a little loose otherwise it looked good. As she brought me back downstairs I saw Mingan carrying a bucket and rag away from where I had my accident. He shot me a dirty look but as we walked by him I lowered my face trying to hide my smile.

We entered Cali’s room and she shut the door. She told me to go sit on the bed, so I complied. She then went over to her closet and pulled out two dresses.

“Which one do you think should I wear Z’ev?” She asked holding them close to herself.
“Umm…”

The first dress was blood red, form fitting, with one shoulder strap that seemed to be held together with a rose. The other was an emerald green dress with a bustier for the top; it was looser at the bottom then the red dress and had an elegant flow to it. It took me a while but eventually I chose the green dress, which made Cali smile.

“Good choice,” she told me.

Almost immediately she started to undress. I covered my eyes, as I was a little uncomfortable with the situation.

“Umm Cali…”
“What?”
“I’m still in the room.”
“Oh it doesn’t bother me,” she explained, “Your six.”

* * *

We left the apartment with a diaper bag in hand, and when we were finally outside there was a limo there to meet us. We got in and the limo started to move, bringing us to the mystery location. I felt like royalty, it was kind of uncomfortable.

“Why can’t you tell me where we are going?” I asked.
“It’s a surprise.”

I gave up asking her questions and looked around the limousine. Noticing there was a radio panel next to me I went to turn it on but Cali stopped me.

“Don’t play with that Z’ev,” she told me reaching into the diaper bag and pulling out a Wonder Cub toy.
“Cool!” I caught myself saying, I quickly took the toy from her, there was something about that character that enthralled me.

I began to make the toy fly around the limo, creating my own sound effects. I was making up stories about imaginary villains he had to fight and damsels in distress he had to save. I hadn’t even noticed the time go by as we reached the destination. The driver opened the door, Cali and I stepped out of the limo and I was amazed by what I saw.

It was a gigantic Hal that resembled a mansion. We walked up to a set of large doors and there was a security guard in a suit standing there with a clipboard. Cali informed him of whom we were. He handed Cali something and he let us pass through. Before we entered through the main doors Cali stopped me a hand me a card on a fabric necklace.

“Here Z’ev take this, it will allow you to go into the private areas and see mommy-I mean Mika.”

She then took me by the hand and we entered through a pair of large oak doors. As we entered I heard Mika’s voice announce, “Welcome to Naptime Incorporated seventh annual Children’s Ball.”

Here is the next part of the story, I did some late night editing so I don't know how well I did on the Grammar/spelling, so sorry in advanced :3

Black Ties: Part 2

“The Penguins”
(Sixth Chapter in the gate.)

By: The Sleeping Fox

Thunderous applause projected from the sea of furs that resembled penguins. I’m not sure, but some may have actually been penguins. Cali started towards the crowd, but I didn’t follow her. I felt as if something was holding me in place. When Cali realised I wasn’t following her she turned around and came over to me. She knelt down and put her hand on my shoulder.

“Scared?” she said in an understanding tone
“T-there’s so many people,”
“I know how you feel,” she said holding out her hand, “just grab onto my hand and squeeze it when you’re afraid.”
“Okay,” I agreed giving her a half-smile.

As we made our way through the crowd I felt as if every eye were on me. Well, my diapers to be exact. I lowered my head and squeezed Cali’s hand tightly. After what seemed like an eternity we made it through the crowd and to a table near the stage. Cali sat me beside a small female grey tabby cat wearing a pink frilly dress. I shifted in my seat trying to hide my diaper from the supposedly unsuspecting girl beside me. At that moment, my diaper felt bigger than I was.

“Okay Z’ev I’m going to be over that table,” Cali explained as she point across the room at a small table of furs that looked to be about her age.
“But, I don’t know anyone,” I complained with worry in my voice.
“Well Z’ev I guess you’re going to need to make some friends.”
“But-

By the time the next words came out of my mouth Cali was already half way to the other table. I adjusted in my seat while looking at the girl beside me hoping she wouldn’t notice. Then I saw it, under her dress was a diaper. In fact when I looked around the table every kid showed the tell-tale bulge of a diaper underneath their clothes.

“What going on here?” I thought to myself.

I studied the other kids around me. On my right side, opposite of the grey tabby there was a rather large panda boy adjusting his clip-on bowtie. Across the table there was a grumpy looking albino hedgehog. On either side of him were two raccoon bickering back and forth. I continued to stare at the grumpy Hedgehog until he our eyes met. I quickly looked away and started to play with the card Cali had given me.

The card read V.I.P, and had the logo of Mika’s company plastered all over the back. After staring at the card for a while I decided to go wait for Mika to finish her speech and get all the details of what was going on. I stuffed the card in my jacket pocket letting the necklace part hang out and got off my chair. I stopped a Squirrel carrying a clipboard, showing him my VIP card I asked him how to get into the private areas.

“It is right over here little guy,” he said motioning me to follow him.

As we passed through the crowd I was bumped multiple times. We finally reached the door and he opened it for me.

“Now you need to go up those stairs and go into the second door on the left, you do know what left is right?”
“Yes I do,” I said frustrated.
“Alright,” He said leaving.

I followed his instructions and came to the door he told to go to but it was locked.

“Great directions,” I said out loud.

As I turned away to try another door I bumped into someone and fell to the ground.

“Are you supposed to be back here?”

I looked up to see a large Kodiak bear with an earpiece, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt that read staff.

“Yeah I’m allowed back here,” I said as I reached into my pocket to grab the card. It was gone. It must have fallen out while I was being bumped around in the crowd.

“I’m Mika’s son,”
“That’s funny you don’t look like a teenager,”
“I-I don’t have my card…”
“Alright you’re going to have come with me,” he said as he reached down to grab me by the arm.

Immediately I panicked. Ducking under his legs I ran down the hall behind him. He began to chase me but every time he grabbed at me I ducked or dodged out of the way. As I turned the corner I saw a door that read staff room start to open and a gorilla dressed like the Kodiak came out holding coffees on a tray. I ran by the gorilla, which didn’t seem to faze him until the Kodiak told him to grab me.

I barely escaped the gorilla’s attempts to catch me. I turned another corner and saw Mika so I ran towards her, forgetting that she was in the middle of her speech.

“In saying that I would like to announce the new bi-annual special cases,” Mika announced as I ran out onto the stage and wrapped my arms around her legs almost making her fall.
“Well speak of the devil, here’s one of them now,” she smiled and picked me up as the crowd laughed at the coincidence.

“What?” I asked, and finally clued in to where I was. The blood drained from my face. I was looking out at almost two hundred people, and they were all staring back at me. I started to hyperventilate and I hid my face on Mika’s shoulder.

“If you’ll all excuse me,” she addressed the crowd and motioned to Cali to meet her offstage.

She took me off stage and began to rub my back in an attempt to calm me down.

“What happened Z’ev?” she asked, “You should know better,”
“I told them, you’re mommy, two people; try to get me, big,”
“You’re not making any sense,” she told me.

I heard the clatter of footsteps and turned to see the two stagehands run around the corner. They were soon followed by Cali.

“I see,”

She pointed at the Kodiak and the Gorilla, and simultaneously their eyes widened.

“You two wait there, Cali take Z’ev, calm him down, and bring him back to his seat.”

Mika then handed me over to Cali and she began to walk back the way we came.

“Those people were mean,” I told her as I calmed down.
“Well you shouldn’t have gone off on your own silly,”
“But you said that if I had the card-
“You mean this card?” she said pulling it out of her purse. “I found it on the ground, besides you should have asked me if you wanted to go see Mika.”
“I just wanted to know what was going on.”

Even when I was an adult I hated not knowing what was going on, Cali would later on explain when I was seated back at my table that we were at Mika’s company’s annual ball to announce the Special cases taken on by the company, and that I was a guest of honour, and so was everyone else at my table.

“Guest of honour?”
“Yep that’s you,” Cali said enthusiastically, “and if you feel the need to go anywhere anytime soon, please tell me.”
“Okay,”
“Promise?”
“Yeah,” I sighed.
“Good,”

Cali handed me back my card and returned to her table.

“You’re weird,” a voice beside me said.
“What?” I asked rhetorically, as I looked over at the panda that was now addressing me.
“You are weird,” he repeated, “why would you run onto stage like that…that’s just weird.”

I stayed quiet and looked away from the panda.

“Well I think he’s cute,” The cat girl beside stated.

This soon caused an argument between the Panda and cat. I slumped down in my seat and looked towards the hedgehog. He gave me a “been there done that” look. My eyes wandered away from the hedgehog and met with a Cabbit boy who was being seated directly across from me. He had brown fur, with cream a colour running down his neck. He was wearing square rimmed glass and a black-blue tuxedo with elongated tails on the back.

It was him, the boy from my dream. The only difference now was that he had a motherly middle-aged rabbit woman in a purple cocktail dress fussing over the symmetry of his face fur.

“Momma would you stop,” the Cabbit said with irritation in his voice, “you’re embarrassing me.”
“Alright Hunny bunny,”
“Mom,” he whined, “don’t call me that.”
“Alright Dylan, If you need mommy I’ll be over there.”
“Alright,”

After undoing the work that his mother had done on his face fur Dylan started looking around at the others at the table. When he saw me staring, our eyes locked. A look of shock appeared upon his face. After a while of staring I got up from my chair and signalled him to follow me. Dylan hesitated at first, but then decided to follow. We went off into a corner of the hall that was relatively empty.

“You’re the little kid from my dream,”
“I-wait…you just called me a little kid…”
“W-well, you are smaller than me,” he said in an off tone.
“Alright…so what was that dream all about?”
“He’s the evil man, he collects children and-
“What did I say?” Cali’s voice came out from behind us. “Didn’t I tell you not to wander off?
Cali grabbed me by the hand and told Dylan to go back to the table. As we walked by we overheard a blend of other people’s conversation.

“Did you hear about the body they found the body of Michael Forrester?”
“I know, they said some anonymous tipster told them exactly where it was,”

Cali stopped.

“What did you just say?” Cali asked.

A confused Beagle looked up at Cali.

“Michael Forrester’s body was found…why is it important?”

Cali gave me a look of surprise mixed with worry, and then looked back at the beagle.

“I’ve just been following the story.”

We walked back to my table where Dylan was already seated; it seems that he and the panda had switched seats. Cali acted like she had heard nothing.

“You stay in this seat,” Cali said sternly, “or I’ll tell Mika, and she’ll give you a spanking,”
“Okay…”

Once again Cali returned to her table and started talking with a large teenaged timber wolf. I turned to

“So what were you saying about the bad man?” I asked
“Well it’s just he’s-
“What are you talking about?” the cat girl beside me butted in.
“Umm, nothing,” I lied
“Were not going to get much talking done here,” Dylan sighed, “I wish there was somewhere we could talk but if you get up again you’ll get in trouble.”
“Yeah…” I replied, “By any stroke of luck we’ll be able to get together later.
“Maybe…”

After Mika was done her speech, everyone took a seat at their respective tables as waiters came from backstage and started serving people food. My mouth started to water as I realised they were serving steak and potatoes with a side of vegetable. When it came our table’s turn to be served the waiter put chicken fingers and fries in front of me.

“What a rip off,” I thought to myself, “but that’s what you get when you’re a kid.”
I slowly finished the meal set before me. Other than Dylan I was the last to finish. I sat for a while until Mika came over to me.

“Are you enjoying yourself?” She asked.
“Not really,”
“Well, I have someone I want you to meet,” she said, “I’m sure you’ll like her.”

She brought me over to a table sitting and tapped the Rabbit in the cocktail dress on the shoulder.

“Z’ev this is-
“Dylan’s Mom,”
“You know my Dylan?”
“Cali caught them wandering off together,”
“I’m sorry he brought Z’ev along on one of his adventures,”
“It’s not his fault,” Mika replied, “Z’ev should know better,”
“Don’t you worry about that Z’ev, my name is Mrs. Lanstrum,” the rabbit woman stated, “I’ve heard a lot about you, but I never thought that you were this handsome,”

As she said this I started to blush.

“Your mommy and me work at the same company,” she explained, “did you know that?”
“N-no,” I said surprised.
“Yep, she’s the vice-president of the company,” Mika added.
“Oh...okay.”

Mika and Mrs. Lanstrum talked for a while before bringing me back to my table. The night carried on for what seemed like forever, all I could think of was the dream and Dylan. We never got a chance to talk. Around eight o’clock it came time for all the kids to leave, even though some of the kids were already gone.

“But, I want to play more with Dylan,” I told Cali as me and her went outside.
“Dylan has to go home too,” She told me, “but you can probably see him tomorrow,”
“Tomorrow?”
“He’s lives two floor below us in the apartment silly,”

A wave of joy and relief flowed through my body when she said this. Maybe now I can finally get some answers. As we waited for the limo I thought of what tomorrow would bring.

You can borrow my otter/squirrel hybrid Nate if you like. He's been attracting quite a bit of attention in your absence.
