Ok, it's DEFINATLY not as long as Zee-Zee's...but I'm a short story writer, not a full on novel kinda dude. Plus...c'mon, it's MAX! I really don't have many interesting things to talk about!

Coon Tail’s Productions proudly presents:

“A Day in the Life” Staring: Maxis James Coon

With special appearances buy: Lig, Zee-Zee

Story inspired by Zee-Zee and Lig (Thanks guys!)

The gentle morning sun filtered through the light of the cracked hotel widow, it gently and warmly worked it’s was up to a figure lying on a sea of pillows. It revealed little Maxis Coon, sleeping soundly like the true baby he was. The sun caressed and warmed his fur as he cracked his eyelids open a little, getting a fuzzy picture of the room in the abandoned St.Mark hotel he made his home in.

Max let out a long, drawn out yawn and slowly sat up, stretching and rubbing his fluffy paws up against his eyes, all the sifting making his very thick, and very wet, diaper crinkle loudly.

“Wakey, Wakey, eggs and bakey” He said cheerily as he put his paws out in front of him and looked around, one of his ears folded over from a night of restless sleep, he growled and pawed at his ear until he flipped it up.

“Ok…so dat takes cawe of my bed head…” He giggled to himself and hoped up, padding over to his dresser and taking out a new diaper from the pack. He had always felt guilty about taking stuff, but with no parents or anything, he really didn’t have much choice. He had never really been potty trained. He stripped off his wet diaper and cleaned himself off, then laid on the fresh white disposable and taped it up.

“Dewe! Aww done!” He yelped cheerily and bounced down the hall to the stairs, hoping up on the banister and giving himself a push, sliding down the spiral staircase to the first floor, holding on and screaming in glee the whole time, his fluffy coon tail flapping as he rocketed down.

“FIRST FLOOR, LOCKS, BLOCKS, SOCKS, AND FOOOOOOOOOD!” He screamed as he shot down, hitting the end and flying off onto the floor, rolling across the old lobby and hitting the wall, back first with his footpaws in the air, his tail draped over his face as he heard a small giggle from the door, he jumped up and dusted himself off, grabbing his short and hoodie from the table where he landed.

“Nice contact on that one Maxy!” The familiar feline voice called out.

“Heh, yeah, I’s suwe euw enjoyed it mowe then I did!” Max called back to the liger cub that stepped into the light, a diaper obvious under his jeans.

Max laughed and toddled over to Lig, his 6 year old pal, never potty trained like him, except he had a big brother to look after him.

“C’mon Maxy, we’re gonna be late!” Lig said as he headed towards the door, Max following close behind as the two climbed outside and took off down the street, turning into the park three doors down from the hotel, Max strolled next to Lig idly.

“So…Wiggy, wa is dis big surpwise?” Max asked curiously as Lig gave a smile

“For the last time Maxy, I’m not sure, all Zee-Zee told me was that his parents had some kind of big surprise and it involved you and him, and…well…he might have said something else, but I couldn’t understand it cause he was to excited!”

Max giggled and thought back to when he first met Zee-Zee, and it was true, Zee-Zee was a very hyper squirrel. He wasn’t in diapers; he said he was a big squirrel, and that he didn’t even need them anymore! He wore pull ups, but he had accidents every once in a while. All in all, he was a really awesome friend, just like Lig. Max had always looked up to Lig, and to his big brother, he never really had much of a family.

“Weww, otay Liggy…but I hope it’s gonna be somfin coow!” Max said, bouncing excitedly

They rounded the corner into the large park as they spotted Zee-Zee and his mommy, both of them looking rather chipper. Zee-Zee spotted them both straight off and ran to Max, glomping him and knocking him to the floor.

“MAXY!! GUESS WHA!!” Zee-Zee chirped out excitedly as he danced about on Max’s tummy, his mother quickly pulling him off.

“Zee-Zee, settle down a bit honey! We’ll celebrate after we have dinner and tell him!” She smiled and ruffled her kits hair.

“Aww, otay!” Zee-Zee moaned.

The trio of kits was dressed in their best clothes; all save for max because he didn’t have “good” clothes. So he had to wear Zee-Zee’s second best pair of clothes. Zee-Zee’s parents were out by the car, waiting on the three of them to come out from getting ready. Soon enough the three emerged and walked out to the car, Zee-Zee’s mom sliding the door of the van open for them to hop in.

“You first, Max!” Lig said happily and helped the little kit up into an extra car seat as Zee-Zee’s dad came around to buckle it.

“You next, little buddy!” Lig said, turning to Zee-Zee, who had a very distressed look on his face.

“What’s the matter Zee-Zee?” Lig asked worriedly as he danced around a bit

“I gotta go potty!! I gotta go potty real, real bad!!” Zee-Zee exclaimed as he danced around.

“We’ll get going, Sweetie!” His mother chirped out as Zee-Zee bolted for the door, barely making it up the steps before he stopped, feeling that warm sensation in his pull-up

“AWW, NUTS!” He exclaimed, Max hoping out of the car seat and running over to him.

Zee-Zee stood there in his wet pull-up, looking angrily at the ground and kicking his foot as max approached, putting his arm around Zee-Zee’s shoulder. “It’s otay Zee-Zee, its wassa accident!” Max said comfortingly as Zee-Zee nodded to him. “Yeah, I know…but I’s suwe I’ll get it next time!” He said cheerily as his mother approached to change him out of his wet pull-up.

“Awwww, Man, dis is gonna take fowevah!” Zee-Zee said annoyed as he sat in the booth with the rest of the group. They had just ordered there food, and after fifteen minutes of waiting, he had given up all hope. He gently tugged Max’s tail as he sat doodling on the placemat with his finger, pretty much hopeless to. Meanwhile, Lig had just finished his Mountain Dew and was extremely hyper, sitting next to Max and Zee-Zee as Max turned his head.

“Wha is it Zee-Zee?” Max asked dully.

“Dis pwace is bowing!” Zee-Zee replied angrily.

The restaurant seemed to be whirling around them, people shouting out orders and crazy, clumsy waiters and waitresses were dashing around, the clinking of plates and glass thickened the air as Zee-Zee’s parents sat reading.

“Yeah…I sappowse it is!” Max said matter-o-factly.

Lig overheard and leaned his head in. “Yeah, this place is dull! We should help make it more exciting!”

Zee-Zee picked up on this immediately and jumped up on the table, his parents could only stare as he began to sink loudly, “SHE’S A BWICK, HOUSE!!”

Max jumped up on top of the booth and leaped over to the counter of the bar, rolling his hands like a disco dancer, “SHE’S MIGHT-Y MIGHT-Y!”

The two join in unison, looking at each other stoked, JUST LETTIN IT ALL HANG OUT!”

Lig laughed and grabbed a couple of spoons, drumming on the desk and filing in the “Na-na-na- na!” As the people of the restaurant stared in mixed emotions, half were repulsed and offended by the behavior, while others smiled and clapped along with the beat as the two continued to sing.

“Think they even know what that song means?” Zee-Zee’s mother asked with a humiliated smile on her face and a huge anime sweat drop on her head.

“Not a chance, Mrs. Z!” Lig smiled and continued to drum as the chef came from the back and joined in with Max and Zee-Zee, who were both doing a well organized dance in an unusually large bowl of potato salad, the chef joined with the dance from behind the bar.

“THAT LADIES STACKED!” Max rang out

“AND THAT’S A FACT,” Zee-Zee chimed in

“’AINT HOLDIN NOTHIN BACK!” The chef added as the three continued to dance.

Zee-Zee’s father threw his paws in the air, then ripped off his tie, “Oh, what the heck!?” He stood up and danced along as everyone in the restaurant started to groove with the music.

“WELL, HOW CAN SHE LOSE?” Zee-Zee sang.

“WITH THOSE THING’S SHE USE?” Zee-Zee’s dad sang out.

“36-24-36,” The chef yelled.

“WHAT A WINNIN HAND!” Max added as the three broke into the chorus in unison, Zee-Zee’s mom had a horrified look, which soon turned to anger as she locked eyes with her husband, the look saying “Get in the car or you’re dead!”

“Whoops,” Zee-Zee’s dad yelped nervously and grabbed Lig and Zee-Zee, running out of the restaurant as everyone stopped, staring at Max.

“Thank you, thank you, and for my next number…” Max started in a happy tone as Zee-Zee’s mom grabbed his wrist and yanked him away, as he flew through the air behind her and blew a kiss to everyone.

“THIS IS MAX OF THE IMPROV-FOUR, SAYING GOODNIGHT AND DRIVE SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAfe!”

The ride home was silent and awkward; they drove next to the hotel Max was staying at.

“Umm…you can drop me off here…” Max said nervously as Zee-Zee’s mom shook her head bluntly. “No Max, you and Lig are staying with us tonight.”

Max meeped and stayed quiet, looking over at Zee-Zee and Lig, Lig was fast asleep and Zee-Zee was zonking out.

“Hey Zee-Zee…what was the big surprise anyway?”

Zee-Zee smiled, “Oh…right, yeah! See, you,” He yawns, “You…w…” Zee-Zee fell asleep right there on the spot. Max sighed and shrugged, nuzzling into his car seat and falling fast asleep.

Up front Zee-Zee’s dad opened the glove compartment, showing his spouse the adoption papers with Max’s name scrawled on the bottom. “Think we should wake ‘em up and give them the big news?” He asked her.

Zee-Zee’s mom smiled, “No, let them sleep, we’ll tell them over breakfast in the morning…” He nodded in agreement as she snickered and started singing softly, “…in our brick, da Na Na Na na, house!” He smiled at her and shook his head, “You’re never gonna let me live that down, will you?” She shook her head, “Not a chance!”

The sounds of her taunting singing faded as the van sped off into the night. The news awaiting the kits that morning was sure to be a big adventure in itself. But that’s for another day…in Max’s life!

Wow. Honestly Max, I think you came out with another great story.

Personally, I think it was a good length. The ending was especially great. Really left readers with a nice fuzzy feeling. As for the entire story, it moved really well and you really captured the humor and emotion of the situations and the very innocence of children.

In one phrase: It was great!

You're a great writer, Max! Keep at it! We love it!

For the record: I read this a little while ago and I meant to comment earlier. I was sure I did... Sorry about that. My mouse must have gotten lost on its way to the "send" key ^^.
