My Alien Universe.

Well I've accumulated quite a few alien species over time and well I thought it'd be a nice idea to make a thread sharing information on all of them. Perhaps use this to set up an RP using the setting later on. I'll use the pics on my DA page so it'll be more reliable. Well with that in mind lets get started.

Sokue
Firstly we have the Sokue. There race live aboard massive colonies usually build in orbit around gas giants. The colonies have earth level gravity and atmosphere as well. A good portion of the colonies have forest and natural terrain as well as cities here and there. The Sokue occupy no known worlds. There own home world was destroyed half a billion years ago. Since then they have master interstellar and it is believed intergalactic travel.

Florkata
Unlike most are evolved from plants. As a result they have an affinity for them and are superb at using nature to there advantage. Most of there technology is biological in nature. They are capable of eating like most beings but however can get by on photosynthesis alone for a while if need be. There kind even has a natural ability to manipulate light. As you might guess they do not like the dark. It can drive them insane as certain key chemicals are no produced in the absence of sunlight. This causes what they call "Nocturn Madness."

Sokee
They're a mono gender species with biology between reptiles and mammals. They're warm blooded and have hair on there heads and have soft scales that from a distance can pass for mammalian skin. They're average life span is 370 to 400 years of age. They're considered adults at 100. Unlike humans there aging stops at it's physical peek and then somewhere around the age 320 they begin to slowly regress although they do retain there knowledge. An "Elder" can be differentiated from actual children by hair color. "Elders" have very light blond hair. Normal hair color range is Red, brown, black green, and blue. Oh fun fact the birthing parent is referred to as Moda and the non birthing parent Doda. Sokee technology is a mix of Roman level tech and modern day. They have a saying. "Technology should mimic and emulate nature and life. Never Hinder it."

Yabun
They live on a world that orbits a white dwarf star. Thanks to the planet's atmosphere though it's fairly warm. His kind live in rain forest areas, cliff faces and caves. They are very accustomed to the dark and don't like bright light. Since there eyes are accustomed to lower light levels bright like like humans are used to can be very damaging to there eyes. Cultural wise his species are very communal and social. They hate being alone. However they are shy and wary around outsiders.

Keetar
The species is distantly descended from insects. They have a similar reproductive and cast system. You have four diffrent cast. Royal Females. These are the ones that are capable of reproduction. Drone Females. They can't reproduce but still have powerful maternal instincts like the Royals do. These females take care of the brunt of the Royal's many thousand of offspring. Next we have the Royal Males. Once more they're the ones that reproduce. They have strong parental instincts as well but not on the same level as females. Lastly we have drone males. They don't reproduce and on top of that don't age beyond there equivalent of mid to early teens. Sometimes sooner. They are often very bright. To them whatever they study or do for work is play. Developing astrophysics is just play to them. These ones also provide females with an outlet for there maternal instincts.

Saurians
They are one of two surviving sentient species living on Earth. Saurians are highly intelligent beings. Saurians come in a great variety. Scale color and patterns vary widely as well as feather color and distribution. Some are covered in feathers even. Some have more pronounced muzzles, some have beaks, some have killing claws like Raptors, some have shorter tails and some have none at all. There species is derived from nearly a dozen diffrent sentient saurian species. However all are now considered one as they are able to reproduce between each other to produce viable offspring. This in part contributes to the extreme variation between individuals. Females are the more dominant gender however and males have more bright and decorative colored feathers.

Neanderthal
They are the second of the two surviving Terran species. They evolved alongside humans. However unlike humans they had more of an affinity for the world around them as well as heightened intelligence. Neanderthals also possessed superb fine motor skills. They were also significantly less violent. These traits were respected by the Saurians who by now had a thriving civilization already set up. When humans arrived in Europe they were quick to come into conflict with the Neanderthals. However this unprovoked aggression was met swiftly by the Neanderthals and Saurians. Humans were driven back to Africa. As luck would have it they went back just in time for a severe drought. Human numbers already diminished they fell into extinction.

Vocaran
They live on a world with two suns and two moons. As such they having a saying. " A Vocar can no more live alone then the suns or moons. One may survive but he cannot live." They are very communal and have a variety of ceremonies for diffrent occasions, most of which involve song and dance. They are powerful warriors with keen senses. They also have a powerful sense of honor. They once had a very violent past. You'll find more fallen kingdoms in there history then anywhere else. That violent past is what has taught them the value of life and made them the peaceful honorable warriors they are today.

Akawash.
There kind are amphibians native to Akawan. There world has a diffrent atmospheric composition then most and off worlders need to take a day or so to adapt to it. Because of this the water is also slightly diffrent as well. It is drinkable by off worlders though. But the AKawash are so adapted to there own atmosphere and water they can't survive without it. Regular water and air will not sustain them for very long. Because of this there kind have colonized no other worlds and only have a few space stations in orbit. However the stations are very large and contain large quantities of air and water from the planet below which are sustained by a replication of the ecosystem on the planet below. Despite this however there world is a buzz of trading. The water when filtered through certain plant life on there world has medicinal properties. There world has only three large continents and vast oceans peppered with islands.

Spacialar
evolved in a rather odd habitat. A small asteroid field which had just enough gravity to hold enough of an atmosphere to have some liquid water. The Spacialar are a very hardy species able to withstand extreme temperature variation. They can survive in even the vacuum of space. They don't have a respiratory system as the atmosphere there was at a premium and hopping to asteroids outside the atmospheric area was common. As such they don't breath. Even the sun's radiation doesn't harm them at all. In fact they use it to there benefit. The partial green color of there skin is due to a type of chlorophyll in there bodies. They do eat but can survive without doing so for a very long time. As for locomotion they jump from asteroid to asteroid but can also use a form of telekinesis for powered flight. However they can get around very easily on planets with even higher gravity then earth. Another fun fact is that they have no native spoken language as they primarily live in the near vacuum of space. Their primary means of communication is telepathy. Spacialars are a very common sight now in the galaxy now having spread out quite a bit.

Artificial Life Forms
There are a vast variety of them in the galaxy coming in all shapes and sizes. From A.I.s aboard starships or stations to androids and various other robots. Although they hold no one world as there homeworld they are now recognized as a sentient species and as such have full rights as any flesh and blood being. Some are quite friendly with biological lifeforms while others are extremely xenophobic of them. This depends on the individual's background with biological beings which in some cases has not been pleasant.

Lacine
They evolved on a world similar to earth and come with a variety of fur colors. Lacines are compared to most species in the galaxy primitive. They have early level roman technology. Lacines are communal beings and have an affinity for animals. They posses empathic abilities and conceivably other abilities although it's very rare. Lacines physically are only as strong as humans although they do have superior endurance, speed, and reflexes. They also have supreme vision and are able to see into ranges of the light spectrum both above and below what most can. Due to there low level of technology however and these superior qualities they are often taken as slaves. They are used for up keep of facilities, some manual labor, and personal services commonly. Freed slaves are given full rights and returned to there homeworld if they choose which is now protected by guard vessels. Although somehow slavers still seem to get through. Those that don't return home make a life for themselves in the galaxy using whatever skills they have or can learn.

Well I've got yet another new alien species to add to this lil list. So here we go.

Enkanee
The Enkanee species are a very ancient one. Possibly as old as the Sokue in my lil universe. Enkanee are fairly peaceful beings. They're masters of merging technology and biology. Enkanee themselves are a fine blend of the the two although they don't look it. There skeletons are made of a very strong metal material. Almost impossible to break. They also have high end computer systems assisting there biological brains. Said computer system is very useful in linking them to there machines. They're also telepathic as well but aside from that and high intelligence possess no other mental abilities. There bodies are also swarming with nanites to aid in there biological immune systems and in healing injuries.
Even there vessels are bio technological. The floors are covered in grass. There ships are also alive as well and fully conious. Enkanee also possess no gender or reproductive organs. They reproduce through artificial means. DNA from two individuals is mixed and a new Enkanee is grown and once fully developed is given to protective parents to raise.

Sukalay
The Sukalay are a reptilian species native to a primarily desert world. They stand on average seven to eight feet tall. They're generally quite a bit stronger then most sentient species known. They're also quite resiliant. Sukalay can withstand most forms of radiation and toxins. Can go a few weeks without food or water if need be. They can also regrow limbs as needed. The tendrils on their heads are long sensitive scales that art sensitive to vibrations in the ground. They're species is adapted to walking the deserts of their world and for tunneling.

Sukalay civilization is complicated. They have a bronze age level of technology which is most commonly seen. However they also have mixed in galactic standard technology too. 1000 years ago an alien species came to their world to try and enslave them. After 157 years of opression they used they're physical advantages and stolen technology from them to wipe the invaders off their world. Due to this they're slightly xenophobic. They don't like offworlders on their planet hence why they now maintain a presense on A Sokue station they allowed to set up shop in they're system. They're main exports are various mined ores used in ship building.

Sukalay have little sexual disforism. Females are slightly leaner with higher voices and usually arrange their head scales in fancy ways. They're offspring are hatched from eggs. Females normally lay a clutch of three. However by tradition each couple normally raises one. The other two are placed in a communal hatchery where non fertile couples and same gender couples adopt the young. The ration between orientations is in the perfect balance for their species.

Sukalay sometimes are born with various mental abilities common to other races of the galaxy. Those that are born with these abilities are known as sages and often times become the leader of their communities or warriors. They're often times given arcane rune tatoos which are given to them on their 13th birthdays.

Well back once again adding to this thread two more of my alien species which I've neglected to do so here they are.

Karue
The Karue evolved on a planet called Karven. Karven is roughly three times the size of earth with a thinner atmosphere not as much water. Much of the planet is barren and hostile with some more habitable areas where water is more plentiful. In some places on the planet the temerature can rage from well bellow freezing and up to the boiling point of water and these extremes can go up at higher elevations. Not to mention that ambient radiation is much higher here. The Karue have evolved to survive in this environment. They are capable of going without food or water for one or two months. Longer if they put themselves in a hibernation state. The Karue's exoskeletons are composed a crystalline composite material which is nearly unbreakable. The karue can even survive exposed to space. If given a rebreather they can work in such conditions with ease. The Karue in general are a peaceful people but are by no means pacifist. Their world is rich in ship building materials and that has been used to build a rather large fleet to defend their system. The Karue are also very active in trade. They profit off of selling some of their various ores for ship building. They also have ship yards to build custom ships for clients. The client needs to supply them with the designs and payment. If the ship has features which the Karue find useful they integrate them into their own vessels and lower the price of the ship to the client and often throw in various extras as thanks.

Oreen
Not a whole lot is really known about their species' history but their general nature and such is well known. Oreen are a species that as far as anyone knows like the Sokue(One of my early species.) inhabit no known worlds. Their species live on vast colony ships that travel in convoys. Their kind are very inquisitive and on a self described quest for knowledge. Gaining knowledge is what motivates them as a species. They're very adept scientist in all fields. This said it has not translated to making Oreen themselves physically superior. Their ships have low to zero gravity on board. They are incapable to movement in earth standard gravity unassisted by an exoskeleton of some sort or an anti gravity field generator. Also Oreen although immune to any of their own prior illnesses have little immunity to the diseases of other races. Hence why if one is ever seen off if it's ship it will be a rare occasion you see it without a custom face mask breather. This device however is also needed in most other environments for another reason. Their species are used to higher Oxygen levels and a thicker atmosphere in general so the breather not only cleanses contaminants from the air but condenses it to make it breathable for them. It's been said by Terrans(Any species native to earth.) that "If one ever came here without any of their technology they wouldn't last long. They'd collapse on the ground in seconds,, start gasping to get more air, and would quickly contract a disease that would kill it probably within a day if not less." All this said however the Oreen do have one superiority physically over many other species. Their eyes can see in most of the light spectrum.

Kaleen Endangered Species

The Kaleen are an amphibious species but not strictly like amphibians on earth. For example their skin can much more easily retain moisture well enough to spend a lot of time on land. That said the Kaleen are very much at home in the water. Their lungs are designed to be able to extract oxygen from a liquid or gas medium. So they're good in the water or out of it. The species evolved on a tropical world which was mostly ocean and the land was nearly covered in rain forest. The Kaleen here are expert climbers and swimmers. Their homes were built around bodies of water and often times would have water ways within them. Kaleen as a species are fairly peaceful beings. They have an efficient justice system which makes use of the portion of their population that's telepathic. The Kaleen language naturally is comprised of both verbal and visual stimuli. Kaleen are able to manipulate like and make northern light type things. In many cases they are able to do so far more efficiently and make definite shapes, and colors and such.

He'kal Critically Endangered Species

Their kind were a fairly peaceful. They were the curious explorer type. Knowledge was the goal of their species. To gain and share it with all. However their kind were a relatively young race. Their level of technology wasn't as high as many other races in the galaxy. Their world had the misfortune of being in a system which as about to be intersected by a roaming star. Their world was flung out of the solar system and sent hurtling through space. It only took a few days for the planet to begin to cool and for the darkness to begin killing all life on it. Their scientist made a few strong hold facilities. Rasuto was among the few from the general population selected to live in one. Life outside slowly withered and died. Within final preparations were made. A Strong beckon was built that would hopefully attract the attention of nearby ships if any came close. And finally the people laid down in they're cryobeds to sleep hoping they would be rescued someday. Their planet drifted for several thousand years through space and one by one the scattered strong holds went dark. When a ship finally heard the signal and wen to investigate only one Strong Hold Facility remained. Within it was found that all cryopods save for one containing a young male had failed. His cryo pod was taken aboard and he was revived.

Following species both inhabit the same homeworld.

Quell

heir kind as you can see are mammalian and quite humanoid. They're nocturnal by nature and possess very good senses superior to that of a human. They have Phenomenal night vision. They also have very robust immune systems. One top of that Quell have a gift for learning languages quickly. All this said however means little on the Quell's homeworld. They're a subservient species to the dominant reptilian race called the Rekel. Quell in most Rekel nations are either a Servant/Labor cast or out and out slaves. They were not looked upon well by the Rekel. They were not very happy. Because the Rekel are Diurnal the Quell had to live as such too which put them at a disadvantage usually. Quell don't see very well in the bright light of the day. It's like flashing a flash light in their face. Everything is in a white haze. Also not to mention the heat and the fact their skin isn't designed for it. However in recent times views towards the Quell have shifted. A plague struck the Rekel and the Quell were immune. They were used to care for ill Rekel and as research subjects and in a few instances lab assistants to develop a cure for the plague. After one was found many Rekel had new views of the Quell which so dutifully cared for them and to whom they owed in a very real way the cure for the plague.

Rekel

The Rekel are a fairly old reptilian race that's lived on their home world for quite some time. However through much of that time the Rekel have be a dispersed people. Fractured into Warring nations. Eventually, not long after the discovery of the Quell, tensions between to of the most prominent nations reached a fever pitch and a nuclear exchange occurred. The Rekel as a species were decimated. Their numbers went from 8 billion to less then 2 billion during this exchange which also caused most of Rekel civilization to crumble. This event was known by the Rekel as the "Great Fall" Although they did manage to retain the use of some advanced technologies in areas they still have yet to recover and have an at best mix of colonial and roman civilization with some modern tech thrown in. Rekel looking for a source of blame for the Great Fall looked too the Quell. With them being nocturnal and mammalian and in Rekel eyes primitive technologically they made perfect scape goats. The Quell were blamed for the fall with Rekel saying that Quell had been behind the scenes manipulating leaders and events of Rekel history. But in recent years after the Plague Rekel are finally seeing how foolish those notions are and coming to accept the Quell. On average Rekel are taller then Quell and stronger physically. On an interesting side note the Rekel do not have much in the way of differences between the sexes. On average they're about the same height and of similar build though females do tend to be leaner. But the only two easy ways to tell one from the other is to listen to them speak. Rekel females like most have softer voices. Rekel females also put off pheromones. No low for a human to detect but Quell and Rekel have no problem with it. Because of this clothing is gender neutral among the Rekel and same gender matting is accepted as a means to produce a family to care for offspring without a home.
