Great Aether

Heroes, like that of legend, still walk the earth. You have never seen them before because we are doing our job correctly.

The world is pretty much the same as the real world only that people with powers walk it.

In the great city, normally peacefull, i suddenly plauged by monsters of myth, In the first case a Chimera (a beast with the head of a lion, body and horns of a goat, and a snake for a tail)



The Chimera is killing everything in its path and you just happen to witness it.

Give your Name, Age, Appearance with Ethnic Background, and Powers. Alliance will come later

Age: 18

Powers: Electric Generation and Manipulation

Name: Setsuna Seie
Age: 19
Appearace: a young female who is 5' 6", 100lbs and light on her feet hailing from japan
Powers: alchemy, the ability to deconstruct and reconstruct matter ex: making a baseball bat out of a piece of wood

Able to sense the enhanced aura of Setsuna, the Chimera glares at at her before charging up an energy attack from his mouth.

The sky becomes darker around the area as if a thunderstorm was slowly approaching.

Setsuna quickly placed her hands together then slammed them to the ground, transmutting the street below to form a semi circle varrier in front of the chimera "chimera you have terrorized this town long enough, it is time someone comes and puts an end to you for good" she said softly the symbols on her hands stop glowing from her alchemy

The Chimera slams its front hooves into the ground causing a quake and splitting the barrier giving a clear shot for the chimeras charging beam to aim.

From a nearby roof Desmond, clad in tan pants and a black tanktop, shouts to Setsuna "The chimera is a dual element, Earth and Fire, don't take it likely" Desmond charges electricity around his arms.

"your eltricity combined with a steel spear" she said softly transmuting a nearby light post into a spear and throwing it up towards him before transmuting a fire heidrant into a water cannon and taking careful aim

Desmond takes the spear and throws it at the Chimera, slaming into the top left of his head. The Chimera fires his charged beam off in another direction due to the force of the Spear. Desmond keeps his electric charge for the next step.

"Chimera's dont die easy, its probably just pissed now"

"add water to eltercity and you have a big shock" she said softly firing the wtaer cannon at the chimera and the ground around it

"Right now I cant generate the shear power to do more than temporarily disable it, but i've got a plan"

Desmond, with his arms raised, points both palms at the Chimera. Suddenly a bright bolt of lightning strikes the spear in the skull of the Chimera, the water surrounding the beast causes any extra voltage to retract back into the Chimera in a loop, constantly sending 200 million volts of electricity through the body, causing it to fall.

Desmond jumps down to Setsuna's side

"By creating a sphere of positive charge, i could attract the negative electrons in the sky, effectively controlling where the lightning will strike"

"or i can do this" she siad softly transmuting a stairway down to the main power lines and finding some scrap metal to make a long conducting rod

The snake head of the Chimera's Tail grabs a hold of Setsuna's hand which is holding the lightning rod as the Chimera begins to stand up on its feet again.

"Persistant bugger, isnt it?" Desmond says as he charges up again.

she smiled softly and pulled out a sharp knife from her side and stabbed right behing the snake's head with it "persists and annoying" she said softly

Desmond grabs the spear and while electrically charging it, slices the main head open as the beast falls to the ground, Blood pooling on the ground.

"The frequency of these random beasts is alarming, my group is looking into the cause, but it seems to be based in this area"

she pulled her mash back over her face and used her alchemy to fix the crack "yes i noticed, thats why one of my friends requested me, the shadow alchemist"

"doesnt feel like anything will attack for a while, we'll have to regroup somewhere for now"

Desmond grabs her hand and runs with her towards a tall building.

"By the way, my name is Desmond, i don't have a cool nickname anymore but when i was in the army i was known as 'Kid Thunder'"

she just ahnds him a phone and pulls loose "anytime im needed just dial 2 on there, for now i must make my leave and check in" she said pulling away and using her acrobatic skills to quickly sail up the side of a fire escape and vanish from view

Desmond returns to his "lair" which happens to be the penthouse of one of the taller buildings in the area. Starting from the elevator there is a hallway with 4 doors, one for the bathroom and 3 other separate rooms, the hallway leads to the main living area with attaching kitchen. The walls are painted red and the floor is oak. A tinted glass ceiling covers the living-area.

"Perhaps I should call her over, with her in the area I might not need to call any backup"

He picks up the phone Setsuna gave him and dials the number he was given.

she answers her phone, while she was sitting on a balcony over looking the busier part of the town. "yeah this is setsuna, whats going on" she said softly

"we should collaborate for now, my company only has me in this area for now, you can stay here for the time being" Desmond says as he sits at his piano

'yeah i can see your point, i need to grab some more rods from the storage and ill be on my way" she said softly and closed her phone and started to prepare

Desmond unlocks the elevator code for Setsuna as he gathers his supplies and lays a map on the table in the main room. After sitting down, Desmond grabs a hold of his pendant and stares at it with a sad expression.

"Alex... its been 6 years since you passed on, I'll definitely finish this... for you, my brother"

she was soon sitted outside with a few bags tover her shoulders, standing on the flag pole before doing a perfect flip to land firmly the balcony before smiling at him and wlaking in. She now wore her traditional black cloak and mash and now her alchemist watch which allowed her not to need the circles on her glove for trnasmuting

Desmond opens the balcony door for her and lets her in.

"welcome to my abode, Setsuna." Desmond says as he takes her bags and places them in the living area.

"So alchemy is your specialty? Everyone at the "company" studies it, the knowledge serves as a good supplement to our powers."

Desmond goes to kitchen where he has tea that has been freshly brewed for the two of them.

"yes alchemy is my specialty, i can transmute without the need of a circle or my gloves if i have my pendant with me. so all i ahve to do is think and find the base material to use to make what i want"

"Alchemy covers all of the elements, my specialty is Thunder, a Branch of Fire. Which is Odd because both my Father and Grandfather were Earth Elementals."

Desmond marks on the map where all of the recent beast attacks have taken place.

"The beast attacks have always been happening, my Company has been dealing with them since the founding of Sumeria about 7000 years ago. But now we find ourselves overwhelmed with the increased frequency of the attacks"

Desmond makes a circle around groups of attacks.

"Due to the nature of the locations the cause is most likely due to a celestial alignment and should pass within the month, a good concentration is in this area so I can stay based her until this is all over and im needed elswhere. The company and I would be grateful of your help"
