(Ok this is cause Zan insists that this story is good and I am determined to prove him wrong)
Chapter 1: Meetings
Darkness.
That’s all there was: darkness everywhere. Then from it strange symbols started to glow with an otherworldly light. Then there she was. A beautiful
woman telling me that this was my destiny. A white fire erupted in the middle of the symbols. From within the fire I saw shadows. Four: each one glowing in their own aura of power. The woman spoke again.
Woman: You must follow the path which your family strayed from. You must prevent the darkness from growing stronger. The beast lies in wait to devour all the powers of magick. Within you lay the powers of the four bloodlines, dormant but waiting. Now then, Alex, wake up. Wake up.
Mom: “Wake up. Alex. Wake up.”
“Huh? Wha?”
Mom: “Get up. You’re going to be late for school. It’s not good to be late on your first day.”
Uhh. First day of school. Oh joy. What about that dream? Mom always said that our power was different, but to actually have the four bloodlines within me? There was no way. It was forbidden.
So, I reluctantly got up, still thinking about the dream, and got ready for my first day at Wilcox Prepatory Academy. Oh, I should introduce myself. My name is Alexander Daniel Davenport. My family affectionately calls me ADD or Alex. I’m about 5’6” with shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. Not all that special in my eyes.
Where was I? Oh yeah, I was complaining about school. We had to wear these stupid uniforms: a dark blue blazer, with a white undershirt and tan pants. To top it all off, we had to wear a tie. A DAMN TIE! I hate ties.
You see, mom got this promotion at work so we had to move my beautiful Malibu, CA, to Duquesne, PA. No mountains, no ocean. Meaning no snowboarding and no surf. How do these kids survive?
So, after finally getting ready, I head to my first day of classes at Wilcox Prep. The drive isn’t that long from our new house. When I get to the school I see that it is huge. It looks like a castle of some sort. I went to registration, which was easier said than done in that school.
Girl: “Need some help? You look lost.”
“Um, yeah, thanks. I need to get to the registration office.”
Girl: “Oh, you take this hall to the end and make a left. I haven’t seen you around here before. Are you new?”
“Um, yeah. We just moved here last week. I need to get my class schedule and my dorm assignments.”
RING
Girl: “That’s the bell, so I gotta run. Hope to see you around cutie.”
That was weird. I got a vibe of power from her. Whatever. I had better shake it off before getting to registration. As I reached it I got another sense of power from somewhere in the school. It was a strange power surge. I reached the window and got all registered. I looked at my room: room 169, with a Blake Wolfe. Interesting. I was told to skip my first hour class, Calculus AB, and go straight to my second hour class, Greek Literature. So when the bell rang again I went into my new class, I had used my first hour finding the classroom. As the other students came
pouring in, I saw the girl walk in. She noticed me and walked up to me.
Girl: “Hey, mind if I sit here. My little brother usually sits next to me in this class but too bad for him. I’m Jordan by the way.”
“Oh, I’m-”
Teacher: “Alright class, we have a new student here. Please stand up Mr.… Davenport.”
I stood up and everyone looked at me.
