This song is a tribute to Toboe from wolf's rain...about one of the sadest events of the entire show. I wrote this for my girlfriend for her birthday, who loves toboe alot. Anyways, here it is!

Rakuen

The beast came from the sky, golden eye ablaze
Poisoned and corrupted, he waned in his ways.
I remember the promise I gave her, to protect him from harm
And I stood between black and white.

Stepping forth, in love and hate
He glared our way, say push away, push away.
When we lose all the things in life we love,
We lose our souls too.
Guns drawn, they glared, in futile hostility
As the man stared in the golden eyes of the one,
Who took everything he cherished,
The life he had burnt away.
And he lifted his gun, as the beast raised his,
I jumped in the way, to shield him from this,
But he shot me in the back,
Too focused on killing his enemy.

And even as I bled from my wounds,
I jumped up again to fulfill my promise,
I stopped him, but only to prevent one shot.
Thrown to the side, the beast launched for the kill,
And finished the job, more blood to spill.
He walked away towards his goal,
To open his false paradise.
So I lay here now, so hurt there’s no pain.
I drag myself onwards, and rest my weary legs.
