| So, I've been thinking lately. I consider myself a member of the furry community, but I'm definitely a babyfur, or cub or whatever you want to call it. Recently I saw an article on a furry site titled: Babyfurs, the furs that even other furs hate. And babyfur.com has several articles about problems at recent conventions between "normal" furs and babyfurs. So if we're not welcome with the other furs, and we're not exactly regular AB's either (I don't really visit AB sites, other than deeker.com, so I don't know much about that...) than what are we? I guess my point is, are babyfurs their own community, separate from everyone else? Or are we a offshoot of other groups despite their disdain? Should we have our own conventions, etc.? I wonder about these things because I rely on you guys a lot. I'd get kind of lonely if I didn't have other like-minded people to talk to. I want this community to thrive for purely selfish reasons . Seriously, though, what do you guys think? | |

| Well I'm leaning towards our own community or an off shoot of the two! We are *B's in some way and we are furs in another, I mean if we weren't then we'd be saying we made our own ideas up and such, we did borrow some from other groups. But we do have ideas of our own. We're our own I'd say but still not enough yet to have our own conventions, maybe there's one dedicated to us though | |

| I'd say if this were biology we'd be a subspecies of furr. Furry is just the whole bunch of us and sure we can be broken down into various sections. I mean think about it like this. Some might not like babyfurrs because of the diaper aspect. But everyone's entitled to there opinions. I say don't worry about these things. Most furrs accept babyfurrs as just another part of the community. I wouldn't worry about it too much. | |

| As far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter what others think of us as long as we can still be ourselves here. I mean they hate us because they aren't like us, that's stupidity.
It's like Ron White says, "Ya can't fix Stupid." Let them think what they want and live on.

| Well, I wish I could give more advice on this...but to those of you that dont know
...I'm not really a babyfur. My desire to wear and use diapers both irl/ and in character is very small and controlable. I'd prefer yiff over everything else. However, I do think of myself as a cub fur. Like...oh...8 or 9 years old.
But lets face it, babyfurs are alot cooler then regular furs anyway^.^

| I don't think that we are sub anything, its more of a title to be a babyfur. Babyfur's are both furry and *BDL its not its own thing really because furries and *DBLs were around before the two came together.
Its like Recces Peanut Butter cups. Peanutbutter and Chocolate came together to make something sooo much better than any of the one individual. Babyfur is essentially something like that in metaphor.
I think it is completely unfounded why 'normal' furs make fun of us/don't like us or whatever. I mean, if anyone should understand they should seeing as just being a fur draws a hell of a lot of redicule from people outside the fandom. I guess it must be kinda like a bully situation, a bully is picked on by someone much more powerful than them and they can't do anything about it so they take it out on other people who are a little bit different.
I think that normal furs who are opposed to babyfurs should seriously re-assess the situation because it really is sad that they would do that.

| Heh. I like the peanut butter cup analogy, I think I'll use that one next time I get flack from a mainstream fur. It's totally true, this subdividing of the community is pointless. We all want the same thing: to be ourselves. Why should it be that it's okay to want to be an anthropomorphic animal only as long as it's an adult version? Or even if it is an adult, it can't be into diapers? It's pretty arbitrary. Once you've made the first leap, why suddenly say "Well, I'm okay, but you've just taken it too far." | |

| ahh well I say to all the furries how hate us...screw you! I have been through this alot myself and most of the time I usually get ignored by them or they see for what I am and we becoem friends. I read this stuff and I have learend that onlycertain furries hate us and tehre are some that don't care that you are bbayfur and just go with it. I just think it the way some babyfurs but it they people get annoyed. I understand you want to be babyish but sometimes just hang out and get to know them and then tell them it makes it easier. And for where we are among furries. We are all furries among teh same but we have to stand up for ourselevs and remain strong | |
