Hey anyone who's listening, I need help. My parents are being, well illegal by all means. They are trying to shove finding a ride to school on to me and it's required that THEY make sure the kid gets to school right? Well I don't know what to do, the earliest I could get to the new school (5 miles away) is a public bus or a bike and the bus is at 8 (late) and the bike I could end up killing myself that early, I don't know what to do

When I had to go to school, I took the bus. Atleast with the bus, your tardy will be escuse. I use to walk to school, but back in the late 80s or early 90s, it is a bt different.

The only real advice I can offer is try to call a friend with a car.

5 miles is a very very long trip to do on your own. Weither by walking or by bycicle. Even I who did a 2-3 Km walk back and fourth every day to my high school was pushing it before I moved closer nor should you be expected to handle a 10 mile commute every day on your own body. Transportation for you is a NESSESITY if you are going to go to that particular school. You could do it every day but It will be extremely difficult especially in bad weather

Because of that distance you should be going to the school itself and asking about it as I belive in most places the board should be providing transport for that kind of distance in their regulations. If your parents will not or cant provide you with transportation than the school or your board will have a solution. If the first bus of most contvnence to you publicly will make you late(Earlier bus/different routes need to be researched) The school board is responsible as relying on friends isn't good for that especially if you don't know anyone.

So the best place to go is the school or board office to talk to them about your issues and or what advice they may have. (your parents could be forced but not without help from the school especially if they want you to stay at that particular school) If theres no solution (doubtfully especially in a rural area or its a specialized school) you need to consider a closer school thats easier to commute to
