| Pretty much self explanatory...
I was just wondering, amongst all of you out there who do write: How do you deal with a writer's block?
For a while now, I've been working on my next story, but after having rewritten the darn thing at least four times, I started over again only to face a writer's block. Now, after a few months of bashing my head against the thing, and not having been able to write, I was wondering if any of you knew what to do.
The really frustrating thing is that I know where the story is going. I have scenes and a plot all written out in my head, everything is planned, but I can't write a beginning to the story that is actually worth anything. And I've got a problem with writing the ending without the beginning. I heard it works for some, but to me, it sounds like building the second floor to a building without having finished the first one yet.
I've tried looking back at some of the first few versions of the story and trying to just continue those, but none of them really come up to my expectations.
So... I dunno, how do you guys deal with a writer's block/artist's block? | |

| Well what you need is something to inspire to you write. Music, a book, TV show, whatever you might find inspiring or idea Provoking. | |

| I kind of do the same thing Piripi suggested. I'm majoring in English/Writing right now so I can't just walk away from writing entirely though. My suggestion is to work on another project for awhile, and wait for your muse to wake up. | |

| How I solve a writers block is I ask my friends about ideas. My friends have stories and ideas that I never thought of. In my children stories, I have gotten an idea from Sierra who I care deeply about as my lil fur sister. | |

| Hey there,
I know all about writer's block but what I find helps is if you just leave the story for a while, and either start on a new one or read something, listen to music watch movies, that are in the same genre, but don't look for insperation let it come to you...
Personally I like to bang my head off a wall...just kidding...sort of...
there's my advice
