| I just saw a news story on my local station about the furry convention this weekend in Pittsburgh. I don't know about you but every time furs are mention in the media I get a sinking feeling in my stomach. This story was fairly civil toward us (the worst thing he said was that the fursuits looked way too hot for mid-July) but all too often we're painted as freaks. Anyway, my dad was sitting next to me when it aired which made it more uncomfortable. I kept watching for his reaction (my folks don't know...Hell NO!). Anyone else seen furry news stories lately? | |

| Well... I don't watch the news very often so no, I haven't actually seen much furry related stuff.
But speaking of the convention near Pittsburgh, is it Anthrocon right? Heard is was something quite big so I guess it's not so surprising it got on the news. Maybe I should read more newspapers... | |

| I'm actually not in PA, I live in Denver. The convention stuff on the news was end-of-the-hour "filler" type stuff. You know, the interesting but irrelevant feature story. They didn't specify the name of the con, but said it was the biggest one in the US, which as far as I know is Anthrocon. | |

| I watch the news alot and heard that story and the only thing else I heard was that here in my town there was a furry marriage (gay couple) and there were like 200 furries there | |

| meh, not really
anyway, furries get some bad publicity, thats why its important that we work hard to set ourselves apart from the misguided view that most people have.
However, I still want a fursuit^^
and I wanna go to a convention!
